Customer Reviews

No extension cord needed, that's for sure.
Amazon Customer
This worked great to give me that extra length I needed to wall mount my HDTV and eliminated the need for an extension cord.

I have a very shallow wall mount for my LCD TV.

Not every cheap product from China is a piece of junk, but unfortunately this one is.

I bought two of them for LCD TVs that I flush mounted on the wall. One failed after less than 2 months of use - the quality of the three wires inside the outside sheathing is extremely poor (and so is the outside sheathing). I took it apart after it failed and the wires inside are of such poor quality that if you bend them back and forth a few times or gently pull on them the sheathing just breaks apart - no wonder it stopped working! I don't what type of material they are made of but the are extremely brittle. Certainly one shouldn't be bending your cords back and forth like I do in the attached video, but I do it to show how brittle these wires are...no power cord wire should be able to be pulled apart by hand so easily!

The only reason I gave it more than one star is it's cheap, and if you are very careful not to bend it very often it works. But if you plan to use it for something where you may need to move it every so often (i.e. if you need to move your TV to make connections every now and then) then don't plan on it lasting very long.

Yeah, 8 seconds, then a pop and nothing. You wouldn't think it would be hard to connect a wire between two points, but I guess it is. Since my home theater is now apart waiting for this cable, I guess I'm off to a brick and mortar store.

Heated up to dangerous temperatures in just moments after plugging it into my TV. This wire is underrated, it is listed as 18AWG but it is not. The wire says 0.75mm^2 which is around 19AWG, while that doesn't sounds like a lot, that's a difference of about 3 amps (or 350 Watt) power handling difference, but my TV is new plasma model that doesn't draw anywhere near the limits of even 19AWG, so it wouldn't shock me if it was aluminum wire to boot. I would cut it open to find out what is really inside, but then I couldn't get my money back.

Well I bought this cord so that I'd have a power cord long enough to reach from my surge protector to my TV, since my original cable was too short to reach after mounting my TV to the wall. About 30 seconds after plugging it in, sparks started to fly out, there was a crackling sound and smoke started coming out. So I got about a good 30 seconds of use out of this product before it died. Thankfully none of my other electronics were affected, only the cable died.

Used this cable to hook up my plasma tv. It melted into 3 pieces and nearly destroyed my entertainment center. It was not kinked, pinched, or used improperly. It simply melted. The wire within is so thin that speaker wire would seem large compared to it. It is not capable of handling a tv!!

Admittedly, I feel a little silly reviewing a power cord, but, being a New York City resident, any space gains are welcome. What this means with a power cord angled to the side is that you can place peripherals closer to the wall.

So, in my case, I could place my EPSON multifunction closer to the wall -- by about an inch. That may not sound like a lot, but considering the multifunction is about 20" wide, it's a 20 square inch gain in space. It also means that the power cord isn't mangled and jammed against the wall.

Overall, happy with the product.

Unfortunately, I had the same experience as the other 1-star reviewer. I purchased this item so my newly mounted TV could reach the outlet. As soon as I plugged it in, it began to smoke and got very hot. Thankfully, I was able to unplug it before it caught fire or destroyed my TV. When I inspected the cable, I noticed that it is 250V - although this should not cause smoking since it is plugged into a 110V outlet. In short, beware purchasing this cable since at least 2 of us have had dangerous situations result.

i ordered this and the the Tripp Lite P006-006-13LA, noticing that the Tripp Lite was different from the pictures. i needed the lowest profile possible for my application and decided to do a side-by-side comparison. the Cables To Go was lower profile!

whatever reviewers might say about the metal quality of this one, i'm only powering a little 15" LCD and so i don't plan on drawing a lot of power through the cable.

i'm going to try to upload a picture of the two next to a ruller so you can judge for yourself if it fits your application.
