Used it a few times to play movies on my HD television from the computer. Works fine. No problems so far.

I received this item on time and in perfect condition. Unfortunately the port in my laptop is no longer working so the benefit of the cord was short term (no fault of Amazon's). Very good product. Well worth the money. Will purchase more items in the future.

So, I'm going to write this review for the second cable I received, then go back and explain why I received two.

This Cables2Go cable is the exact build quality and standards I have come to expect from C2G products. The cable is nice and thick, the connectors, while not gold, are much more durable than those gold connection, and the cable works flawlessly. The reason I appreciate the durability of this product, is I use it in a traveling audio-visual setup that includes full sound and projection gear. That means that the gear I buy has to be durable because it's banged around, handled by non-professionals, and pretty much abused. My last C2G cable lasted for more than 5 years in this harsh environment, so I was glad to find it priced so affordability here on Amazon.

Now, to the reason I received two: the first cable I got was a knock-off. I noticed as soon as I opened the box. The bag did not have any indication that it was a Cables2Go product. It was a clear bag with similar print, but no reference to C2G. Guessing it was just a packaging issue, I opened the bag and was immediately disappointed. The cable--while thicker than some slick at-home versions--was still pretty thin. Also, it didn't have ferrites (a reality I didn't realize until I got the replacement cable)...those are the black magnet things that clip on near each end. Everything about the cable seemed cheap.

So I did some digging around online and found someone who had taken a picture of their Cable2Go packaging and that's when I was convinced. I used the feedback mechanism to basically berate Amazon for not insuring the integrity of their sellers.

After reading the reviews, that were about 50/50. I decided to give this cable a try. Worked fine for three days then, nothing. Not able to resolve the issue with the seller. Save yourself the trouble. Go to Target and get the cord for 16.99.

After buying this piece of junk, RiteAV - SVGA Monitor Cable with 3.5mm Audio - 6 ft., I received this Cables To Go - 28011 - 6ft HD15 M/M SVGA Monitor Cable with Ferrites today.
I plugged it in and everything is recognized and working to the correct resolution without any configuring/hassle/etc.

I'm running Ubuntu 11.04.

Wish it had ferrites, but not going to return it for a refund of $4.00 and then risk another purchase like the first. I'll just knock off a star instead.

....making it extremely difficult to tighten this cable in tight spots, i.e., the backs of most monitors, which adds stress to the port/pins. Metal shielding also arrived bent and looks flimsy. The cable is otherwise heavy and thick, making a good first impression, but overall quality of material and design is lacking.

I have an HP nc4200 with Linux Mint installed that serves at home for various purposes, one of them is to be a media station when combined with a Samsung FullHD TV. I had previously bought two different VGA cables for it at two different local stores; one of them caused the screen to display (in addition to interference lines) a "Cable not connected" message even when images were being displayed, the other cable would not display the message but it will display some interference lines in the image, but what was a common headache was that these cables could not deliver the full range of resolutions that my TV supported, I could not even select a resolution with the same aspect ratio my TV has.
The only cable I had that allowed me to select a good resolution and gave a clear image was the cable connected to my desktop, but I didn't liked unplugging it from my desktop to the TV and then back when I finished watching a movie.
So since local stores were no good, I searched online; a store that had provided me with cool electronics had 5ft cable priced at US$9.27 but it didn't have ferrites, since interference lines one the image was a problem with the two other cables, ferrites were a must. In the same store I found another cable; it was 10ft with ferrites and priced at US$14.50, price was not good.

I searched in Amazon and skipped the cables that had reviews about not being able to get the correct resolution, until "Cables To Go - SVGA Monitor Cable with Ferrites" caught my attention, I looked at the reviews and there were no complaints about the resolution, the lower stars reviews complaint about the size of the connectors but since I have Samsung 4 series that is not a problem for me. The $4.

This cable is fine. It does the job well, and is well worth the $6.19 I paid for it. The cord is a little more 'stiff' than another one I tried, so it looks like it sticks out of the laptop when I connect it to the HDTV, but the signal and connection are great. No problems.
