After years of using my mothers 40 yo hand-me-down Electrolux, I decided it was time to get a "better" vacuum. I began experimenting with "new technology". Several years and several trashed vacuum cleaners later, I decided to get serious. Cheap vacuums don't work or break within the year. Bagless vacuums can work, but when you empty them, 25 percent of the dust goes right back in the air. Then you have to clean your dirt AGAIN when you clean the canister or the filters. Uprights just don't clean as well as Canisters.
So after much research I settled on the SEBO. What a pleasure. The handle is actually designed to move the way your wrist works. What a concept. It is so quiet, I actually thought it wasn't working at first. You can lay the handle absolutely flat and vacuum all the way under the bed/couch. You can "dim" the power with a touch of a button right on the handle to go over those fringed edges and throw rugs. And the canister follows you around on wheels like a little dog. No dragging it behind you. The little bumber all the way around lets it go around corners and furniture without damaging everything. All my walls and furniture had the telltale bumb mark from my big heavy Electrolux canister. No more. The small tools are onboard so there is no digging around for them, or going back to find them while cleaning. And, here is the best, the handle "parks" in the upright position. No more trying to jam the handle in the back of the closet. Did I mention it telescopes too? So you can shrink it to its smallest size, park it right next to the cannister, which also sits upright, all your tools are on board, not floating around with the gloves. OH, and it REALLY WORKS. LOVE IT!

I didn't purchase from amazon this time. However, I do have this vacuum. I was really excited when it came, couldn't wait to vacuum. It is pretty quiet, which I love. The power head doesn't spit stuff (cat litter) around, it actually sucks it up! I'm not sure how clean it is really getting my area rug though. About 6 weeks after receiving my C3.1 it stopped working. I called Sebo and they were pretty helpful. The connectors were bad from the hose to the machine. It was an easy (and free) fix, but I was pretty upset that it happened at all considering the price. It's been about 2 1/2 months since I had it repaired and so far so good. I will forever worry though. It's not a perfect machine, the hose has been twisting lately, very annoying.
We have two very hairy dogs and some cats, so I vacuum nearly everyday. It does do a great job at getting all the loose hair and debris carried in by the dogs.
I love the retractable cord, it could be longer though.
I have all hard floors so I decided to go with a canister (my 1st), but sometimes I wish I had researched the Sebo uprights more.
All in all, it's a good vacuum and I feel good about my purchase.

I bought the SEBO Air Belt C3.1 canister about 1.5 years ago. The sales person convinced me Sebo was the best on the market especially for pet hair. I should have checked more thorougly and not let them pass based on my general respect for German engineering. Sebo is NOT the best even though I paid $1200 for my machine. In fact I have never written a review on anything...ever until now. I dislike cleaning but it is necessary. My Miele I had before got it done with as little irritation as possible. This Sebo is awkward, the hose gets twisted every 3-4 minutes. I spend half the time allocated to clean on untangling this hose. It's attachments are not very useful or effective. It already is making noise AND doesn't suck things up unless you are right over it. I took it in to the company where I purchased it and he said it was fine so I guess I am stuck since it will take a long time for me to justify another vacuum cleaner after I supposedly just bought the best only 2 years ago. I miss my Miele....now back to cleaning but I had to take a break...I have been so mad at Sebo and should have warned everyone a year ago.

The vacuum description states that, "A parquet brush and powerhead are included with purchase". When it arrived, there was NO powerhead. When I phoned Amazon, I was told that Vacuums4U said I had to buy the Powerhead separately. I was shocked, to say the least. I would not have purchased such an expensive vacuum if I had to buy the Powerhead separately. WHY do they advertise that the powerhead is included if it is NOT???? False advertising!!!! The girl I spoke with at Amazon was kind enough to credit my account for enough money so that I could purchase the powerhead. I have ordered a powerhead from a different company than Vacuums4U. I am very disappointed that Vacuums4U advertises and does not stand behind what they say. I spent almost an entire morning on the phone and internet trying to resolve my problem. It was terribly frustrating and stressful! I will never buy from Vacuums4U again...buyer beware!!! :-( The vacuum is a VERY good vacuum. Sebo makes one of the best on the market....just do not buy it from Vacuums4U.
