I have a wonderful camping hammock, the Clark Jungle Hammock. It's rain tarp comes with some slim lines for attaching to a tree, but I'm not crazy about them. So I looked around until I saw these hooks. On a gamble I bought them. They're perfect! Just the right size to fit through the loops on the tarp and the ropes are strong enough and long enough to fit around most trees. Because this hook carabiner makes adjustment and tightening quick and simple, it's made my set-up time for my hammock faster than it was. These are really handy little devices.

This may be the greatest invention since sliced bread. I'm a knot expert and usually adjust guylines myself, but when it's pouring rain and the wind is blowing 40 mph sideways, these are the cat's ass. And, I guess what really makes me love them is the relatively low price for a great idea that works as advertised.

I spotted these clips and the line at my local hardware store. The line is about 8ft long with 7ft of useful length, once you tie one end to the rack. I am a sailor so I can tie trucker's hitches, bowlines etc. but these clips & line seemed a bit more useful and less wear on the line itself. I bought them to carry in my bicycle commuting sack so when I happen to need to bring home some odd shaped thing I can easily strap it on the rack and using the hook, cinch it tight. I have some bungies and those are handy as well, but with an elastic it's difficult to get something heavy immobile. I looked at the heavier clips, and the safe load for those is 150 lbs so they might work for my van and canoe but for that load I'd prefer a higher working load. For a bicycle, 150lbs is way more than I'm going to carry. These small clips are rated at 50lbs and that's probably also more than I plan on carrying. Plus the whole package is less than a 1 lb. so I don't even notice it in the bottom of my gear bag.

Anyway recommended for bicycle commuting and/or bicycle camping.

I bought these awhile ago... and then learned the taut line hitch. does about the same thing. finding that out alot in outdoor equipment. IMHO learning knots would be better. The more you know the less (weight in equipment) you need. im sure there are some specialized circumstances where this would be advantageous but i thought id put my two cents out there.

I have really been having a hard time finding something that needs to be strung up! I've taken to using these for laundry lines, and they've worked out great. Really easy to get a rope with the right amount of taut in it, what more can you ask for.

These are must-have items for any camping/emergency kit. The instructions are written ON the clip itself, so you can't go wrong. Just add paracord.

I am a big fan of this companies products, but I have found the instructions for these ties very difficult to follow. I am sure with practice, I will get the hang out of them. They are fairly priced, and appear to be of good quality. I was very happy with the speed of the shipping.

I just bought these & we used last weekend with our pop up camper for the tarp to go over it. It made it so much easier. We had been using bungee cords & tying off to trees. Nothing like launching a parachute in a storm. This combined with stakes was so much more secure. Even with a good storm & lots of wind, the tarp stayed secure. We look forward to this saving us time when we are setting up camp. I plan to buy a few more to have handy.

An item one should have for out door journey's. Could be used as a towing mechanism for motor bikes to get them started instead of having to push the bike. The line provided was pretty strong and did not snap while towing a motor bike (this was of course on a smooth surface dust road). Also useful as a tie up to secure items on a bike or vehicle.

I like the product but I thought that it would be bigger. Works great on my little camping hammock but the rope the comes with it is a little weak. I'm almost 200 lbs and the hooks work great with para chord.
