Bye, CA,
This review is from: CA Internet Security Suite 2007 (CD-ROM)
I've used and upgraded CA products for years without trouble. Easy to use, operated quietly in the background. Solid.
After installing the 2007 version according to the instructions, this upgrade proved to be nothing BUT trouble. Made several software programs function irratically or not at all. Made Windows XP thoroughly unstable, never previously an issue on my system. A disappointment for sure. Rather than 'argue' with Security Suite 2007, I gave in and bought different software.

CA is caca,
This review is from: CA Internet Security Suite 2007 (CD-ROM)
Loaded CA suite 2007 on my very fast computer, results, crashed my computer constantly and wouldn't allow simple things like viewing maps on mapquest. This software is junk. Luckily, Amazon offers refunds and I just sent the software back to for my money back.

I have used windows 2000 pro for years and I never got blue screen crashes. That all changed when I installed the latest CA security suite. Within the first 30 minutes of installation I had two blue screen crashes. PC Magazine warned about this instability and I should have taken their advice. I uninstalled the security suite, and I demanded a refund from CA.

Slows web surfing to dial up pace,
This review is from: CA Internet Security Suite 2007 (CD-ROM)
My Norton was expiring, and there was a great deal with this when purchasing any tax software (at a local office supply store). Uninstalled NOrton, installed this, and what a mess. I have high speed broadband cable, and web pages load so slow (forget about video) I may as well be back on dialup. Never had this with Norton. I wish I could un-do this purchase (believe me, I'll try)

CA Internet Security Suite 2007 AKA "The Crasher",

I installed this suite on two different laptops from two different manufacturers with two different flavors of XP. Every time I access the internet using either of the two browsers, IE or Firefox, sooner rather than later, I crash with a blue screen of death. I got so frustrated that I uninstalled it and now the internet access works normally. Did this product go through QA?

CA Support is a JOKE. Getting refund.,
By
This review is from: CA Internet Security Suite 2007 (CD-ROM)
Internet Security Suite 2007 touts "parental controls". Could not find them anywhere after download. In chatting with CA Tech Support I learned it was a seperate download and they sent me the information and link to dowwnload this THIRD PARTY software package (K9). There was NO mention of this in any of the documentation and e-mails that followed my purchase.
It also took fifteen (15) days for tech support to reply to a simple online tech support question I sent in. Is this a JOKE? I now have been waiting for 2 weeks for CA to refund my money since it was an electronic download purchase. No response yet other than the joke of an automated response. If you read Cnet and PCMag reviews you will see that Technial Support at CA is inadequate for a big player in this market. I call it a joke.

CA Internet Security Suite 2007,
This review is from: CA Internet Security Suite 2007 (CD-ROM)
I spent 3 days solving Firewall issues, it was blocking certain websites and unable to read my E-mails from Windows Live Messenger.
Also I noticed that it sloved down my browsing. The Chat support did not solve the problem, they suggested to take the paid mode. It used to be an excellent Antivirus program, with this new version they blew it, needs to go back to the design board. Sorry CA but I'm not your customer for this year and it was removed from 4 desktops / laptops that we own.

Anti-Virus ok, Firewall bad, customer service atrocious,
This review is from: CA Internet Security Suite 2007 (CD-ROM)
I'm running XP with multiple user accounts. The anti-virus works ok on all accounts, but on any account other than the one I used to install the software, the anti-spyware says there's a problem, and the firewall says it isn't installed. If you click on advanced settings, it directs you to a URL to install the software. Excuse me, I already installed it! Then, just to add to the day's entertainment, in any account other than the one I installed it on, the CA Security Center software spawns blank windows at the rate of about one a minute. There's the CA logo on the left of the title bar (that's how I know it's CA's fault), a big red X, and an OK button. That's it. If I don't keep closing them, I wind up with fifty, a hundred, who knows, it's like that episode of I Love Lucy. Customer support? You have to pay $30 to phone tech support! That's right, even if you bought the thing an hour before! The help that's bundled with the software is almost non-existent, the online knowledge base isn't much better, and there's a "chat with tech support" feature on the website that doesn't even work. This even after I've raved at Customer Care 4 times. The last person advised me to uninstall the software to get the support chat Active X control to work. Good advice, that. In fact, take it even further. Learn from my stupidity and don't buy this product at all. You're better off taking your $70 and going out on the town, believe me.

Components do not play nice together!,

WOW...what a chunk of garbage software!
CA was really looking like it was serious and committed to providing a quality product until this happened. Although, CA security products have always fallen short of the big boys like Symantec. Right now, as of 4/10/2007, Norton Internet Security Suite 2007 is the gold standard for an all in one suite that runs smoothly and does not bog down your system. Also, the same company offers Norton 360. A very capable, solid suite of goodies. On my 2 test machines, CA ISS 2007 crashed multiple times, the components (antivirus, anti-spyware, firewall) caused problems that crashed the other each other!!!! I have not trusted CA's products or company for years. then it started to look like they were going to be capable. Now this. once again, CA is about the fast buck and the short term profit. No wonder they have been in the toilet on the global enterprise market. Remember when their CEO was charged with embezzling all that money? Same old, same old.
