5.0 out of 5 stars High end quality with a low price, June 26, 2010

MagicMix (Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: CAD e100 Supercardioid Condenser Microphone (Electronics)
I bought this mic in 1996 when I first started recording. Using it with a "screen filter" in front of it for vocals I and everyone I've recorded in my home studio have always been impressed with it.

I eventually did an apprenticeship at a national level recording studio with $3,000 + microphones and maybe it's just me but I couldn't tell the difference in quality.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre and overpriced condenser mic, July 18, 2006
This review is from: CAD e100 Supercardioid Condenser Microphone (Electronics)
I owned this mic for five years before it blew some condenser and the recording volume started to oscillate. I have been using the mic mostly for recording vocals and it proved a little too sensitive for that purpose. If you are planning to record ambiance, or vocals with a lot of room sound, this mic could work for you. But for recording clean vocals it picks up a little too much room for my taste.

So I recently replaced this mic with a second hand R0DE NT2000 (for under $400), and I think it is a much better investment of $$. See the reviews for NT2000 for more information on that mic.
