My 3-year-old and I had so much fun painting this, assembling it, and playing with it. We used watercolor paints, which did make the cardboard a bit soggy at first, and we were too impatient to wait until it dried completely to assemble it (probably unwise - I do recommend you wait for it to be completely dry, because if not the cardboard is to soft and could break, although ours did not). Then we played with it with some felt animals we already had. My son kept saying, "We made this treehouse, Mommy!" I loved how it encouraged him to move his hands slowly and carefully while positioning the animals - fine motor skills training! You can't tell from the picture that there's a small hole in the roof which leads to the stairs - my son's fav activity right now is to drop his smaller animals through the whole and watch them coming tumbling down the stairs.

Forgot to mention that the treehouse is very cute and looks lovely hand-painted in watercolors - very easy and fun!

My children have thoroughly enjoyed this gift I got them for Christmas. They're ages 3 and 5 and this treehouse has been played with just about every day for the past two months. It was put together easily, painted and decorated...and my three-year-old just loves playing with her little 2-inch Toy Story 3 figures inside the treehouse.

I would certainly get another one of these again. No hesitation at all.

This is a fantastic product. I purchased the Calafant Treehouse last year for Christmas for my 4 and 6 year olds. Along with this they received a $100 traditional plastic dollhouse from their grandparents. The treehouse sits beside the dollhouse and they play "Jack and Annie" (from the Magic Tree House series of books written by Mary Pope Osborne) quite often, moving from the dollhouse to the treehouse. It is now October and the treehouse has held up as well as the plastic dollhouse.

Considering the dollhouse requires adult assembly, is very Earth unfriendly, and cost 5X as much, the treehouse is looking like a spectacular value compared to the dollhouse. I would recommend this product to absolutely everyone. Also, just in case anyone else wants to set up a Magic Tree House play set like my kids did: For the Jack and Annie dolls, we just use the Fisher Price Loving Family boy and girl.
