Candidate works for the wrong reasons, November 3, 2008

I have been treating myself for Candida yeast overgrowth for over two months now and have learned a thing or two about the fungus. In addition to adhering to the strict diet, I was taking herbs and supplements (like Candidate) that are geared to kill Candida. After six weeks I started to feel better- my allergies went away, I had more energy, and other symptoms decreased. But, only a week later, all of the symptoms returned, and they were worse! I learned from a holisitic doctor that because Candida yeast cannot be destroyed, all I did was help to create a stronger strain in my body that was resistant to the anti-fungals and other treatments I was taking. I am now taking liquid zeolites, agarigold and a powerful probiotic called FermPlus. I don't know if I would recommend the new products I am taking- they are expensive and it's too early yet to say if they work. I do, however, recommend that if you are treating yourself for Candida, find someone who can help guide you first, it may save you some trouble down the road. Good luck!
