5.0 out of 5 stars Product Satisfaction
Although these items are not specifically manufactured by the Canon corporation, I have found that they are actually BETTER than the Canon items. 1.0 out of 5 stars Ditto - What was shipped was not what was advertized
1) They shipped me an adaptor which doesn't fit my Canon Powershot A620 (it's only designed for the A650, or they just choose an adaptor at random to ship to you). Without the adapter it fits, but you can't turn the camera on because the in-built lens expands.

2) They shipped me two macro lenses and no telephoto lens

3) If the lens had fit, you'd...

Canon offers a plastic lens adapter, this one is real metal, and actually fits more snug on the camera than the Canon adapter. Canon offers lenses with plastic housings, these are metal.

I used to have the Canon adapter and 1.5x zoom lens only, and those two items alone cost as much as this entire kit. This kit is a steal for anyone who is looking to upgrade the capabilities of their Powershot. The equivalent Canon items would literally cost several hundred dollars, probably more than the cost of the camera itself.

I bought these lenses to go with my Powershot A630. I was a little hesitant to order anything not made or recommended by Canon, but after receiving these I might consider other off brand items. First off these lenses, and the corresponding adaptor, are made of metal, the Canon adaptor is made of plastic and appears cheaply made.
Right away I attached the 2x magnifier and took a few sample pictures....also took exact same pictures with only the camera zoom. What a difference the 2x lense made. The center of the images were nice and clear with only slight fringing on the outer edges...which I think could have been due to several factors, not only the lense.
These might not be perfect lenses for pros but let's face it, most pros don't use P&S cameras opting instead for DSLRs! For the rest of us, these make a great alternative to the high priced lenses made by Canon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accesorize!!, August 6, 2006
This review is from: CANON POWERSHOT A610 A620 A630 A640 PRO HIDEF LENS & FILTER SET (Electronics)
To answer E. YEN "David"'s question: Yes, the set includes the adapter. The one included is actually made of metal, not plastic like the $20 Canon LA-DC58F Conversion Lens Adapter, the lenses include also two sets of metal adapter rings I'm guessing the 54 mm is for the A610 and the 52 mm are to fit the filters to the lenses.

The adapter comes in a carton box, but the lenses come in little vinyl bags, they're not only cute but also give protection.

I haven't got the chance to take a lot of pictures with the filters, but I'm very pleased with the zoom and macro, of course is only 0.5 x and 2.0x, but that's all an amateur like me needs so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good deal at the price., June 7, 2007

The product is very solid. I like that they are metal. It gives them a solid feel. When I got them, I went and took several pictured. The only thing that I have found was that the wide-angle lens produces blurrier images. But for amateurs like myself this is a great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great package but with some surprises, April 4, 2008
This review is from: CANON POWERSHOT A610 A620 A630 A640 PRO HIDEF LENS & FILTER SET (Electronics)
I purchased this item recently. The quality of the items are first rate. Much better than I expected. The bad news is that my package arrived with all black colored accessories while my camara body is silver. The good news is these guys are teriffic at making it right. I immediately got an email from Joe at the company and despite several days of me being unavialable he was persistant with phone message and willing to do whatever necessary to make my order perfect. You could not ask for better customer service. Not only do I have the black colored lenses but Joe is sending me the correct color with a return lable so I only have to refill the box. I am so impressed that this company is willing to send the correct color before I return the received items. THAT IS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The componets are of the highest quality, fit my camera exactly as expected and the package even included a bonus of a table top small tripod that is very sturdy and supports the camera with lens attached very well. Each piece is made by Sakar and is beyond my expectations for a $41.00 bundle of accessories. I can't even find a reason to not do business with this company. Rarely do you find an outlet that is so dedicated to customer satisfaction. The filters included with the kit are sized for the adapter tube. You can place them between the add on lenses and the filter tube. If you wish to have them on the front of the lenses you will need to purchase additional filters fit to that size. Shadows will occur on every photo taken with any use of the adapter/filters and both lenses if you intend to use the built in flash from the Powershot A630. Consider a slave flash to avoid this problem. The UV and Polarizing filter can be stacked to protect your original lens and the Polarizing filter is a circular polarizer so you can adjust the effects of glare. Very good feature. My last circular polarizer for my Canon SLR was $50 on its own. Overall the quailty is impressive. The only negatives were no docs with shipment, wrong color to match my camera body, and filters that cannot be used with the lenses themselves. But I have to say the customer service totally went way beyond the negatives and I would buy any accessory from them again. I would highly recommend this value buy I would buy it again for $80 and feel like it is a great value. Shipping was fast, had it within 7 days from ordering.

The best of it are the Wideview lens and the UV and PL filters.
The main problem is that you can't combine the Wideview with the filters. You may be able to do so if you got yourself 58 mm lenses.

1. Good service, delivered in time, improved the experience in photography.
2. The tube adaptor too short to accomodate with maximum optical zoom and the tele lens

1) They shipped me an adaptor which doesn't fit my Canon Powershot A620 (it's only designed for the A650, or they just choose an adaptor at random to ship to you). Without the adapter it fits, but you can't turn the camera on because the in-built lens expands.

3) If the lens had fit, you'd get those infamous black edges if you don't zoom in.

4) If the lens had fit, I doubt I'd have seen any image quality improvement.

I received the macro lens with a correct 52mm base and the Cannon A640 to 52mm adaptor tube. The telephoto lens had a 58mm base and can not be used. The filters sent were not those pictured. The did not fit over the lenses. Is this unique - they shipped wrong product - or has this happened to others?
