I've called 3 times and no one answers.

The place the bar sits is pretty wobbly, and the little curl/leg portion of it is garbage (i just took it off).
Luke Hebert
First the box it came in was ripped up pretty bad and there was a gash in one of the parts.

I ordered this bench for my teenage son, and have been using it myself as well. It is incredibly well-made, very sturdy, and durable. The bench is wide and long, and it easily accommodates taller individuals as well. Assembly was relatively quick and easy. Be advised that this bench requires a 7ft bar and Olympic weights with the 2" opening.

First the good...
The bench is very sturdy and durable, it is definetly worth more than the cheap benches out there.

Now the bad...
This bench comes horribly packed! It is basically just got all the parts thrown into a box and sent out.
I had to go through two benches until I could get one with no broken and/or missing parts.
Since the parts are just thrown into the box, during shipping they create a lot of scratches and marks on all parts and that is a shame because the black powder coated parts would have looked much nicer if they were packed better.

Top that with absoutely non-existent customer service from CapBarBell (they never answer the phone, they don't return calls, and if you are lucky enough they will send you an email eventually but will never follow on what they say).

If you end up buying this bench, you will do yourself a favor by ordering from Amazon, because at least Amazon were quick on rectifying any issue and send replacement bench and paid for shipping back of the defective bench.

I bought this because one review said it was solid and not all loose like others from reading other reviews. I had to use my dremel tool to do some very minor cutting so that a main frame Bolt could reach the threads. Very slight line up problem. The shaving was very minimal and it was really only on part #5 that connects to Part #6 main frame under up front under the Leg Lift.
I also had to replace one of my 2 screws (Part#32), because one was all deformed. My local hardware store had an exact replacement. One plastic cap was cracked. I called their customer support in hopes of a replacement. She said they had to look really hard, but they did send me two plastic caps as requested via Fedx.
The Bench is a cheaper cast aloy metal Chinese production. Not bad actually.I have seen much worse and I have seen better. On a scale of 1-10 I give the strength of the metal about a 7 or 8. It is strong enough. The bench is solid and after two work outs I only had to snug the screws that hold the frame together at No.5 and 6. This was not a surprise nor was using my dremel tool to make a couple of items fit. And one of these bolts will keep turning if I don't stop so I left that one alone. ..softer cast aloy cut production. But there are still three other bolts holding it and the one that would keep turning still has some meat on it since I was wise to it.
I also had to snug the bolt again after some leg lift sets on the leg lift attachment too. This is all pretty normal and to be a bit expected. For the money it is a good bench. If it wears out or breaks I will buy a higher quality bench for free weight lifting. I gave it a 4 based on the casting and production bends and welds. Basically a 4 for off shore quality control.

I bought this thinking it looked really solid but it's not. It's made out of pretty thin sheet metal. The areas where the bolts go through are already stretching after only 1 month of use so it's getting a little wobbly. The leg attachment can now shift left and right. I first I thought it was a broken weld but again it's the holes in the metal stretching and allowing movement. It really could make for a dangerous situation. I have not even come close to the 500 pound weight limit yet either.
It's really to bad the are making this out of such cheap metal. It would be excellent if not for that. The padding is great and thick, It wasn't to hard to put together and the preacher curl attachment is a great bonus.
If I could make this purchase again I would definitely not buy this one again. Spend a little more and get something that's a little sturdier. You'll be better off. I can see myself needing to purchase a new bench in a year anyway so basically this was a waste. I'm pretty handy so I'm hoping I can find a way to stabilize it but so far nothing good. I might try welding up some metal on it but I need to figure a way to be able to still take it apart. I shouldn't have to be worrying about this on a new bench.
One more thing. A plastic cap came crushed and I haven't been able to get it replaced. Customer service at CAP barbell is a joke. Don't even bother. I've called 3 times and no one answers. You leave a voicemail and no one calls back. That right there should tell you how this company believes in their products. Stay away from this one.
