My pink Phillies ball cap was looking very grungy, but washing it by hand did not do the trick. Someone mentioned to me that there were such things as ball cap washers that allowed you to wash your cap in the dishwasher, and I searched for one on Amazon. This one was so reasonably priced and arrived in only a couple of days. It is designed to be used either in a washing machine or a dishwasher, but is not recommended for use in front-loader washing machines (which we have.) So in went the Phillies cap with the next load of dishes, and amazingly, it came out looking almost new. Ball Cap Washer - Safely Clean Your Cap In The Washing Machine or Dishwasher (White) (12"H x 8.5"W x 4.5"D) What a nifty little plastic contraption!

These gadgets are great! I have bought several and used each in the washer. The cap has come out perfectly each time.

I don't know why all the shouting about this product. It is flimsy, one of the frame snaps comes loose during every washing. I wash in a top loader on the most gentle cycle and the cap comes out skewed in the frame and I have to straighten it for drying. I found the cage to be difficult to open. Maybe I'm a klutz at this sort of thing, but I think the open/close function should be easier. This thing probably works better in a dishwasher where there is no circular or back and forth movement, however I have found that just washing my caps in a top-loader on handwash/casual works just fine, they come out the same as when I use the BCW and you don't need a unit for each cap.

This product is well worth the money. Just put your cap in the holder and put in your dishwasher. Keep it in the holder and lay flat to dry. Really amazing!

Works... But there is a better way,

I've been wearing baseball caps for over 10 years and at times used this plastic cleaner...which never seemed to stay latched.
But there is a better way. When my hats get dirty and smelly, I just throw them in the washer, and spray with shout out or spray & wash. After the final spin, I take the hat out and but it on my head, using my hands to form it. I then lean over a little and take it off my head, retaining the shape. I then place it on a door knob to dry. Comes out exactly shaped to my head.... Try it, it works.

Works Great...,

The key is to just put the hat in the washer then put the hat on the cap rack to dry on top of the dryer. In a few hours the cap will be dry and back to a perfect shape. I never use the cap rack in the washer.

I liked the idea, but it didn't really work so well in practice. First problem, your hat's brim has to be completely flat to fit in this device. Mine are all significantly curved, and were made that way. The bowl shaped piece designed for the crown of the cap was too large for any hat that I've ever worn, even with the cap's adjustable strap completely unfastened. Oh well, nice try...

I have an extensive collection of baseball hats. My favorite ones, which I wear the most, get dirty after a while. No problem, just put them into the cap holder, follow the directions that come with it, and "Presto" your hat is nice and clean. I used the washing machine method, and it worked very nicely. Unfortunately it hasn't changed my wife's mind that I have too many baseball hats!!

Finally , a way to wash all those dirty , smoky baseball caps. Just put them in the dishwasher and they come out clean, fresh, like new. Originally bought one , but with all those caps I have, and at the low price,I bought two more, so now can wash three caps at once. The molds retain the shapes of the caps. Just hang them out to air dry. Also great if you wear caps to bars and you come out smelling smoky. Washing them takes out the smoke and restores them to new. These are fantastic.
