As a kid learning how to draw like a real cartoonist I found that watching these cartoons here to be a lot of fun. These cartoons are more like animatics. Which a lot of live action directors use today to help tell their stories. I however believe hiring 5 drawing storyboard artists on a film to be a better use of pre-production money & far more creative than animatics for feature films.
The Space Angel cartoons are the best staged & drawn mostly by Alex Toth with the help of Jonny Quest creator Doug Wildy along with adventure cartoonist of the 1950's Hy Mankin,Tony Segroi,Sal Trapini & Clutch Cargo's creator Clark Hass. Any cartoonist who wants to learn how to do film Storyboards & solid Adventure cartooning would do well to learn staging from this dvd. While the stories are simply the story telling is very good. |
