Put the food inside, adjust your settings, and press the Start button. A light goes on inside while the turntable spins. When you hear the beep, you know it's "done.". Makes sizzling and beeping sounds. Realistic control panel includes buttons for heating various types of play food. Play microwave measures 12"L x 7¼"W x 6¾"H (it's not only more realistic than others, it's larger, too). My wife and I had to keep trying to get our 13-year-old autistic daughter to stop playing with our microwave. This was the most realistic toy microwave oven we could find. "Cindy" loves it. She plays with it quite regularly and she no longer tries to play with the real one. It's a great toy, and I would particularly recommend it to anyone who is having a hard time trying to keep a child from playing with a real microwave oven.

I bought this for my 4-year old nephew who has visual imparments. The lights, working buttons, movable inner tray, and realistic beeping and motor sounds are what sold me on this model. It was a total hit!!!! He loves it, and I am the favorite aunt that bought the favorite gift this Christmas.

This is a great play microwave. A little smaller than it looks in the picture, but not too small for the 3-year-old who is playing with it. As a "replica," it is very realistic looking. It is made of plastic that looks metallic and has different knobs to turn on the front (although not for a real timer or anything). The best features are the realistic LED lighting and the rotating plate. [As another reviewer mentioned, the plate does come off easily; it got tossed aside after a little while.] Recommended for any child who wants a 'real' microwave to cook with. Arrived on time and well packaged.
