Good, could have been great. Turned out just okay.

I bought this watch about 2009 or 2010. As I write this review, I am wearing the watch. It still runs fine, keeps time with no issues and is on its original 10 year battery. From the moment I bought the watch, I knew I was NOT going to love it. It has a few design faults. The hour hand, while looking nice in the photo, is actually hard to read. It is smaller than it should be, has two holes in the larger part of the hand and two small white dots at the tip which do not help. It "hides" under the minute hand. The two steel bars on the face of the watch also make the hands hard to find.
I used this watch as a beater watch when I did rough work in the yard or around the house. I did not wear it every day, only 1 or 2 days per week. After a year, the black paint on the metal bars across the face had become rather chipped. The crystal was fine,so they did their job, but the watch looked a little beat up. The next year the band broke. I replaced the band and pulled off the bars. Which made it easier to read.
So why three stars?
The good: The battery and the watch are still working after 5 or 6 years. For the price, you can't beat that. Who wants to spend $10 on a battery for a $20 watch??
The bad: Hard to read the time. The band did not hold up (So I spent $10 on a band.) No calendar but I knew that when I bought it, just did not think I would miss that on a beater watch.
The real good: For Casio at least, I just bought a Casio to replace this based on the build quality of this watch, if not the design. I think I picked out one that overcomes the issues this one had. We'll see.
