I only changed up from cat5e, big difference still. This particular cable is only going from the modem to the router. If you are unsure, the plug from the Cat 6 does fit into your standard Ethernet port.
Cat6a is now available Cables To Go 27743 Cat6a Shielded Patch Cable (3 Feet, Blue). The difference is: Cat6a is rated at 10 Gbps up to 100 meters; Cat6 is rated at 10 Gbps up to 37 meters. So a 3 foot cable will be fine, just something to consider if you plan on using Cat6 for anything over 37 meters. |
