Book Description

Crystal isn’t sure what to think when she learns that she’s married to and has children by Mars, the God of War. She knows that she’s not giving him up to his ex-wife, the Goddess of Love, without a fight. Venus has other plans, though, and the goddess and the mortal woman square off.

At the same time, Crystal has to deal with Sorscha, the shape-shifting thrakkon who has fought by the side of Mars as a silver dragon, and served him as a beautiful woman, for longer than Crystal can imagine. The thrakkon calls her husband Master, but can Crystal trust her?

Join the rapid action and occasional humor as Crystal follows her husband to Olympus, the dive bar for the gods, as well as through a destroyed Bay Area, looking for survivors of the cataclysm as well as clues on how to defeat a goddess.

About the Author

A Mississippi native, Stephen H. King was moved in high school entirely against his will from the small town of Corinth to a large city he ended up loving in southern California. After, a series of mostly unexplainable decisions led him through a strange sequence of events beginning at the United States Military Academy, where he double-majored in physics and electrical engineering, through a fairly short career as an Infantry officer and then an electronics technician, a product engineer, a carpenter’s helper, and an elementary school janitor, to ultimately finding himself on the faculty of a small college in Anchorage, Alaska. During those years, he learned that reading science fiction and fantasy allowed him to escape the strangeness into the more understandable worlds crafted by Isaac Asimov, Piers Anthony, Marion Zimmer Bradley, and many other great writers. As time went on he began to mold his own worlds. Stephen now lives in Midlothian, Virginia, with his wife, daughter, and two white Chihuahuas that enjoy morphing from Therapuppies into miniature dragons at the sound of food being opened. Stephen is currently working on the next book in the Goddess series when he’s not serving the students of a small college in Richmond, Virginia, as their Dean.

5.0 out of 5 stars A mythologic adventure November 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoy reading books about mythology in the modern era. I've read "Gods Behaving Badly" and all of the Percy Jackson books. I find this one to be right up there in myth meets reality. Though unlike the aforementioned books this one takes a bit of a turn. The end of the world as we know it has come, cataclysmic activity rips through the world taking it back to the stone age (as it were). Follow the adventure of Crystal as she comes to terms with being married to the god of war, raising their twin teenage daughters, and wanting to learn to be a mage, all while fending off an overly jealous goddess of love. I can't wait to read the next book!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Work! November 29, 2011
By R. Hogg
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I absolutely loved this book! Normally my reading does not venture into books which contain mythology but I made an exception for this novel. The author takes you on a journey with Crystal through the end of the world as we know it and the beginning of a completely new era as she learns what it means to be the wife to the God of War, while raising two teenage daughters, learning to become a mage, and deal with her husband's jealous ex-lover, the goddess of love. I cannot wait to read the follow-up novel! A great work!

4.0 out of 5 stars "CATACLYSM: MARRIED TO MARS" (GMTA REVIEW) January 20, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Book Title: "Cataclysm: Married To Mars"
Author: Stephen H. King
Published By: Trestle Press

Review: I'm usually not one to read Science Fiction novels though this one had a bit of both Sci-Fi and Fantasy. When the end of the Earth is at hand, a man that is perceived to be normal in fact turns out to be Mars. Married with children he has a perceptive dream of Earth's destruction and decides to save those closest to him, those he deems worthy to take them to a new life, in hopes of rebuilding Earth once the disaster is over.

In this novel we learn more about the Gods and Goddesses of myth and see them as the infamous beings they are.

This book was indeed thrilling and had me enthralled from beginning to end. I can honestly say that Stephen H. King will likely do well in his chosen career path and I hope to see more from him in the near future. He could well be the author to change my mind about the Sci-Fi genre and make me a new fan!

3.0 out of 5 stars Intriguing mix of sci-f,i mythology and romance
Stephen H. King, otherwise known as TOSK, imagines a curiously different Armageddon in this, the first of a series of mythologically post-apocalyptic novels. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Cataclysm
Very much anti-Bible as evidenced by events earlier in the book. Very clearly, the author shows his bias towards Christianity. Where was the mockery towards Buddhism or New Age?

This one deals with mythology and I love mythology but it started saying things against the Bible and it was a lot of pagan religions too so I deleted it off my Kindle. Read more
