This set of 3 manuals will give a potential CATIA user the tools necessary to create basic wireframe, solids, and engineering drawings. CATIA Basics course manual is intended for users with no prior CATIA experience. Its purpose is to acquaint the student with the basics of the CATIA software and hardware. After successful completion of this course, the student should feel comfortable in producing simple 2D and 3D shapes. This course is a prerequisite to all additional CATIA courses offered. CATIA Solids requires the successful completion of the CATIA Basics course or a working knowledge of CATIA. The purpose of this manual is to expand the student's basic CATIA knowledge into solid creation and modification. After successful completion of this course, the student will be able to create clean, well organized solids, and be able to modify existing solids. The student will also have an understanding of the history of a solids creation and the ability to extract elements from the history of a solid. CATIA Draw requires successful completion of the CATIA Basics course or equivalent knowledge. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the user with the functions on CATIA which are used to create engineering drawing datasets. After successful completion of this course, the user should be able to combine and organize datasets, create and filter existing views, and create dimensions and text to support design and/or documentation revisions.
