I studied primarily from this book and failed,

First off, I felt there were many errors in this book. However, I don't think the errors as a whole really contributed to me not passing. The ACRC test is truly hard, and for someone without that much experience even harder. I thought this book would have given all I needed to know, however a number of the questions on the exam(especially one fill in) wasn't even in the book. I wish I had taken the advice of a friend who told me to focus on the actual course material most of all. Duh, I thought I could simplify and just read this book. Overall I like Lammle's writing, but this time I don't think he covered all the bases as well as he did in his CCNA exam notes book. -Andy Crefeld, a_crefeld@yahoo.com

I appreciated the way Todd wrote the ACRC exam notes book. All of the cisco stated objectives were addressed in order within a concise, understandable format. By reading 25-50 pages a day over 10 days I had a manageable and comprehensive review. Coupled with hands on router experience/self-study exercises I felt confident going into this exam. Passing my ACRC exam on the first attempt felt great. I had the same results with the CCNA exam and the CCNA exam notes book that Todd Lammle published. Even though the format and content may change in the future, Todd covers the basics and practical Internetworking material that won't change. On a side note the copy I originally ordered had problems. I wrote Todd email letting him know. Between him and his editor Linda Lee, my issue was resolved in time for my exam date, within two weeks of first writing. I can't thank Todd enough for the series and Sybex (Linda Lee) for their support. I will review the CIT exam notes when I receive it and take that exam also. Thanks again Todd, The CCNP doesn't seem such a distant a goal anymore!

I can't tell you what is on the ACRC exam, but..............,
This review is from: CCNP Exam Notes: Advanced Cisco Router Configuration (Paperback)
I will tell you that if somebody says the ACRC exam is the most difficult of the 4 CCNP exams, believe it. It was the exam of death, and thanks to the Chappell book, and a sliver of thanks to Lammle, I passed with an 854 yesterday morning. Lammle's ACRC book has little to offer and I don't recommend it, especially when my copy has an ENTIRE chapter missing! But the publisher made up for it by giving me TWO chapter 3's. LAME is how I rate the Exam Notes book. Download the objectives off the Cisco site, buy Chappell's book and you will pass the ACRC. Lammle's CCNA book and Exam Notes are all you need to pass that exam, but this one seemed rushed, and definitely is not a tool for success for this exam.

Don't buy this book.........,

My copy had an ENTIRE chapter missing, I discovered this after buying it. But the publisher made up for it I guess by giving me TWO Chapter 3's. This book barely covers what is important. You can find it all in the Chappell ACRC book. I'd highly recommend buying her text, not this one. I passed the ACRC on the first try by downloading the objectives from cisco's site, and reading the Chappell text. Lammle's Exam Notes for this test is definitely not a tool for success on this exam. Don't buy it.

I used this book among others. The book does not contain the necessary depth and breadth to pass the ACRC test.

Make sure and understand that the ACRC exam is by far the hardest exam in the ACRC series. This Sybex Notes book made it possible to pass the exam the first time. I studied the book for three days before the exam.

This is a very well written book. Todd has added info not supplied in his Study Guide. I would recommend both his ACRC Study Guide and his ACRC Notes book. Get some routers and practice the commands. This is a tough test, but I passed using the Sybex material.

If you use this with the Sybex ACRC Study Guide, you'll pass the exam no problem. It had everything we needed at my work to pass all three of the techs here. I am very pleased with the Sybex series of Cisco books.

I bought this book as a quick study guide before taking the ACRC exam (after failing with the CiscoPress ACRC book). I read only a few chapters and this is my view: This book contains many errors with some information being just plain wrong. They give command examples in abreviated form which is not allowed on the Cisco ACRC exam. Not a good thing to have stuck in your mind as you're heading for the exam. Ignore this book BTW: I did pass on the next shot at the ACRC exam after re-reading the CiscoPress book.
