A little slice of heaven....,

Ben Harper, A little bit Jimi and a little bit Marley and a whole lot of soul. I give it to you straight, I haven't purchased this set but I have purchased each album individually when they were released. This set is great for those new to Ben especially after the Burn to Shine release brought him to the masses. You can get your fill for a lower price with this set. Ben mixes blues with funk, rock, hip-hop, R&B, and classical with the greatest of ease. He is truely a genius, because never before has a man brought so many genres of music together into what can only be described as a symphony. Speaking of symphonies just listen to Roses from My Friends and you can feel the energy, passion and emotion which is truely immense. He is one of the few true artists of our time, so if you don't have this pick it up. Ballads to Blues Jams- Ben does it all.

What? Only 5 stars allowed????,

Ben Harper has GOT to be the unknown love child of Nina Simone and Muddy Waters, with a sprinkle of Bob Marley in the bath water. This dude blows me away, and I'm a hard man to please. He goes from treating you to some good mojo in songs like "Breakin' Down" to lulling you with instrumentals like "Number Three" and then makes you depressed with tunes like "Another Lonely Day" and then slides church Sunday on you in tunes like "By My Side" Ben Harper defies my being able to put him in any single category, and I like that. I like that ALOT! No matter what your tastes, Ben has probably got you covered. Order this set, which collects his first three albums, then make sure to also order his latest release "Burn to Shine" for the complete collection. BUY THESE RIGHT NOW!

My favorite artist... Ben Harper is amazing!,

Ben Harper is a fantastic musician, and his lyrics are straight from the heart... a lyrical genius! What could possibly be better then getting three of Ben Harper's best cds in one? I have four... I keep one in my living room, one in my room, and two in my car so I can always be wrapped up in this beautiful music.I would compare Ben's music as perhaps a more modern version of the legend Bob Marley, or just as spirited, but deeper Jimmy Hendix, and even as male, and more intriguing Tracy Chapman. This man is the most talented artist I've ever heard, and is deeply under appreciated. From "Welcome to the Cruel World", "Fighting for your mind", and "The Will to Live"... these three cds will sink deep down inside of you. These cleverly thought out lyrics are so beautiful, and meaningful, I'm brought to tears every now and then. Buy this cd, if not for the lyrics that will leave you in awe, or for his utterly amazing talent at playing the lap slide guitar... but for yourself. This music has made me think about life, and myself more then ever. Bless Ben Harper.
