This full-color digital atlas brings together the most accurate images of functional neuroanatomy available today. It represents an important new tool for correlating functional structures with clinical and radiologic findings, as well as for improving understanding and diagnosis of neurofunctional disorders.

Written by recognized specialists in neurology and neuroanatomy, the digital atlas covers all major neurofunctional systems (medial lemniscus, auditory, visual, motor, and limbic), and allows all structures and systems to be viewed in true 3D in an unlimited number of perspectives (special viewing glasses provided).

5.0 out of 5 stars A very useful CD-ROM of neuroanatomy, March 31, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: CD-ROM Atlas of Neurofunctional Systems (CD-ROM)
This is an atlas of functional anatomy of the human brain that was produced using serial sections of intracranially fixed human brains and computer graphics. The atlas concentrates on the "neurofunctional systems" (the corticospinal system, the medial lemniscus, the limbic system, the basal ganglia, the visual and auditory pathways) as well as on the arteries, ventricles and sulci of the cerebral hemispheres. The CD-ROM is not only easy to use - for a neuroanatomy entusiast it is really funny. While the book version displayed "3D" reconstructions in 2D, the CD-ROM version permits also "real" 3D displays by using stereo glasses, the original 2D serial slices can be projected into the 3D images and the name of each structure is shown by placing the mouse pointer on it. The CD-ROM includes also a scholarly (hyper-) text of neuroanatomy with links to references and illustrations as well as key word search. The very complex spatial relations of the "systems" are made clear and easy, making this atlas a useful study tool for neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and neurologists as well as other practitioners and students interested in brain anatomy.
