5.0 out of 5 stars Image Quality
A short response from the author to the reader from Japan: CD Roentgen is actually often applauded (in many journal reviews as well as from user feedback) for its image quality, with custom grayscale "look up tables" utilized to display carefully digitized images. The magnification feature doesn't just use the trick of "pixel doubling", but instead...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed. Not worth the money.
I'm in my first year of practice, and bought the CD as a reference. I'm disappointed about the resolution of the images. They should at least have been XGA resolution. A radiologist should know how important the image details are. Maybe it would have required two CDs to fit all of the images at a higher resolution, but it should have been done to meet a minimum...

A short response from the author to the reader from Japan: CD Roentgen is actually often applauded (in many journal reviews as well as from user feedback) for its image quality, with custom grayscale "look up tables" utilized to display carefully digitized images. The magnification feature doesn't just use the trick of "pixel doubling", but instead actually displays segments of an image with higher spacial resolution. I can only guess that there must be an issue with your individual computer. Please re-contact technical support. (Amazon made me pick a star rating, or it wouldn't let me post this!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great disc, June 6, 2005
This review is from: CD-Roentgen: Interactive Radiology Teaching File on CD-ROM (Audio CD)
Anyone who has used other radiology CD's will recognize the excellent quality of the images on this CD. They are great.

And author M.M. selected great cases, too: Mostly classic cases plus unique presentations of common diseases. A must for anyone who wants to see lots of cases, especially when preparing for boards.

One weakness: limited (if any) differentials are provided. But this weakness doesn't change my opinion that this is a great disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent image quality, August 31, 2006
This review is from: CD-Roentgen: Interactive Radiology Teaching File on CD-ROM (Audio CD)
To make best use of this CD ROM, scale the monitor's resoluation to 640x480 when you use this CD and turn off all the room night as you do with actual reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Fantastic, March 5, 2002

This review is from: CD-Roentgen: Interactive Radiology Teaching File on CD-ROM (Audio CD)
By far the finest of such materials available. Even available for Mac OS. I just wish I had an OS X executable. Image quality and the comprehensive nature of this software make this an excellent buy.

A radiologist should know how important the image details are. Maybe it would have required two CDs to fit all of the images at a higher resolution, but it should have been done to meet a minimum standard of image detail and information. I think my money could have been much better invested in a different reference. If another edition is published, I recommend higher resolution at a lower price.

1.0 out of 5 stars CD-Roentgen Williams and Wilkins, March 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: CD-Roentgen: Interactive Radiology Teaching File on CD-ROM (Audio CD)
The basic set-up for this CD-Rom is quite good, user-friendly, informative, plenty of Q&A. Unfortunately, the graphics are terrible with most of the chest X-rays unreadable. I contacted the W&W tech. department and there was little I could do to improve the images.
