Great transaction, quick shipping. I'm not sure why all the reviews that I read said that this game pad did "not" work for them. This Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game pad works outstandingly and not just on my COD:MW2 but on all of the first person shooter games that I own and even on my racing games, I am still working through my games to see how many it works with but I haven't found one game that is doesn't work with yet. The profile editing software also works great. The game pad makes playing games so much better than using the keyboard and mouse at the same time, with 20 different programmable buttons {You do need to change the POV pad from a 4 way to a 8 way in the profile editor but that is really easy to do} plus the two joysticks this game pad has everything you need all in one really nice feeling controller. Considering that other people are having issues with this item I would add that you need to install the drivers and SST {Profile editor} software according to how the instructions on the disk that accompanies the game pad tells you to, put the disk in and follow the instructions before you plug in the game pad, it's really in the middle of the installation process when it instructs you to plug in the "controller that you want to update". Other than that it should work as well for you as it does for me so, Buy with confidence. Thanks Amazon.
"Python" I am running Windows 7 Pro, on an Alienware Area 51 computer.

Sure is people that dont follow directions in here. Followed them (and they're pretty simple, derp) works fine on Win7 ultimate 64bit so PROBABLY works just as well in xp. It does say, however, that you dont have to install the profile software for the controller to work but.. you pretty much do. Configuring was a bit confusing at first but after reading a little of the online tutorial you realize how simple it is. Protip: make a ps2 profile, delete the thumbstick inputs, set to startup profile. Good sticks and also the best feeling controller I've ever owned. Almost silky >.<
The only complaints that I have are the bumpers (need a little too much force), Dpad is hard and shouldnt be used for movement, and the cord is a little short (maybe 3-4ft). Giving it a 5 to even out the tech impaired but would only give it a 4 because of the negatives. EDIT July 26, 2011: After 9 months of very light use, I've noticed poor button quality. Having to use a lot of pressure to the point where it feels like applying any more would break the sensors. Even then, holding buttons down is a gamble, you never know when it'll fail to register. This is most apparent in games that require aiming (like resident evil or MODERN WARFARE). It's more of a hassle then a controller and I regret not getting 360 controller to begin with. 3 out of 5!

Doesn't Work Properly / Poor Tech Support,

This controller looks and feels great. Unfortunately, the fun stops there. With Modern Warfare 2 on the PC, the controller's buttons aren't assigned properly. There is an installable profile editor that should allow the user to modify button assignments, but it doesn't work. I can view the profile and adjust the button assignments, but they aren't saved or updated on the controller.
I sent a message to the tech support people. No response for weeks. Sent another message...finally got a response with one suggestion to download new drivers. That didn't fix the problem. When I replied that the problem continues, they stopped responding to all messages. I now have a worthless controller.

I have an older generic pad from the same company. It was just OK after lots of setup. This version has a much better driver set and is easier to program. I use PS/3 when home and I can program this one to be fairly close to that when traveling. If you play Call Of Duty on a game console you will find auto-aim harder on this. Maybe with time I'll get the hang of that.

I purchased the controller thru amazon.com. The software installed OK. Mad Catz advertises that this controller has the 'perfect profile that's been specially tuned to make playing Modern Warfare 2 on the controller an absolute breeze'. Nothing could be further from the truth. The profile has many problems (see below). Also, the stick controls are not very precise. Using the stick buttons is frustrating, as they do not always respond, requiring multiple depressions of the stick buttons.
The profile has several problems. Some can be corrected with the included SST profiler editor, but others cannot. The following problems can be fixed with the profile editor: 1. Button 1 is `latched'. This causes the controller to continuously emit `F' commands (Use) once button 1 is pressed. It continues to emit `F' commands until button 1 is pressed a second time. 2. The `Throw Special Grenade' function (L1) actually invokes `Inventory/Killstreak'. 3. The `Cycle Weapons' function (POV up) actually invokes `Throw Frag Grenade'. 4. The `Equipment/Killstreaks' function (POV right) does nothing. 5. The `C4' function (POV down) does nothing. 6. The `Nightvision/Toggle Weapon Attachment' function actually toggles between `Nightvision' and `C4'. 7. The `Melee Attack' function (Right stick button) does nothing. The following buttons are not mapped the way the PS and XBOX controls map these functions. This can make it confusing to use the Mad Catz controller after using a PS or XBOX controller. These can all be fixed using the profile editor: 8. Button 3 is mapped to the `Crouch/Prone' function. Both the PS and Xbox controllers map this to button 4. 9. Button 4 is mapped to the `Jump' function. Both the PS and Xbox controllers map this to button 3. Essentially buttons 3 and 4 are reversed. 10. L1 is mapped incorrectly (see 2), but even if it were mapped to `Throw Special Grenade', it would not match the PS and XBOX controllers, which map L1 to `Aim Down Sight'. 11. R1 (which is actually L2 - see 14) does not match the PS and XBOX controller, which map R1 to `Fire Weapon'. 12. L2 (which is actually R1 - see 14) does not match the PS and XBOX controller, which map L2 to `Throw Special Grenade'. 13. R2 does match the PS and XBOX controller, which map R2 to `Throw Frag Grenade'. The following cannot be fixed with the profile editor: 14. Button 6 is mistakenly labeled `R1', and button 7 is mistakenly labeled `L2'. These are reversed, and the profile editor cannot be used to make this correction. This can be fixed by manually editing the `pr0' file using a text editor (like notepad). I spent several hours working with the profile editor to fix all these problems. In the end, the I got the controller to work like a PS or XBOX controller, except for the rough sticks. I really think you would be better off buying a XBOX controller for PC. If anyone would like to have my profile, please contact me at bobthehack@hotmail.com

I really like this controller. I was kinda scared when buying it because of the mixed reviews I read but I have had no trouble at all with it. I use it with Linux (Ubuntu 11.04 to be exact) so I don't know anything about how the software works but I fired up Qjoypad and everything worked great. The controller feels sturdy and is comfortable to hold. the joysticks could feel a bit better but thats not really a problem. The kinda rubberized coating on the outside gets scratched and peeled of fairly easily and can take the paint with it but that doesn't really bother me because I just want it to work plus I think the scuffs and scratches give it character. All in all I paid about $15 for the controller and for the money I am extremely happy. I would not hesitate to buy another one if I needed to.

I dont see how people are having issues with the software, that was EASY. I got everything setup, and all runs great on my Bootcamp partition, but honestly it just feels cheap and doesn't work as well as console controllers, which is what i was hoping for. The sensitivity is my main issue, and its a pain to change. It just doesnt feel right. I find it easier to play with a trackpad.... *facepalm* The buttons are fine, but the stick are just to hard to adjust. Even the MW2 profile is bad.... Which sucks as i really wanted to use this in mw2...

I can't play, because the controller doesn't work. Looking for support and the Saitek web site take a minutes to load the U.S support web page. This piece of crap doesn't work AT ALL. It is installed correctly, and functions in the SST profile for calibration and testing - but NOWHERE ELSE. DO NOT BUY. What's the point of a game controller that doesn't control anything?
FAIL.

The mad catz controller is very sensitve unlike the use of the pc keyboard and mouse. I guess I should have started out with the mad catz controller because I find it to hard to get used to after playing the game with the mouse and keyboard. There is nothing wrong with the unit, it's me.
