I am completely happy with this product. Here is why:

The micrometer adjustment is in 10's around the dial so there is no adding or guessing what your setting is. I have used others in 15 lb graduations and this tool removes the fuss.
Simply pull back on the spring loaded sleeve and rotate the main body to make adjustments. Let go and it locks right in. Others I have used have a locking dial on the handle end which can become loose and you lose your setting. The handle is just the right length for a 250 ft/lb torque wrench. Others I have seen are unnecessarily long, and can be hard to manage. CDI has excellent customer support. I contacted them prior to ordering and a tech spent plenty of time explaining the specifics of their wrenches.

I called the tech for an explanation on accuracy ratings. This wrench is accurate within +/- 4% of indicated reading from 20% to 100% of full scale. My certificate of calibration states values much lower than this (from .5 - 2.5%). 20% to 100% is industry standard though some torque wrench's will be accurate to +/- 3%. In this case 20% of 250 ft/lb is 50 ft/lb. So this tool will be increasingly less accurate the farther below 50 ft/lb you go, or in that bottom 20%. This is due to lack of compression on the spring in the lower range. Really this wrench should be labeled as a 50 - 250 ft/lb wrench, corresponding to the included certificate of calibration (meaning: my cert. of calibration labels this wrench as 50 - 250 ft/lb).

Just know that with ANY spring type click wrench the low capability should be 20% of max even if dial will indicate a lower setting.

This is one item in life you can purchase without any doubt that it will meet and exceed your expectations.

This CDI torque wrench is made in the USA. Adjustment is beyond precise, as smooth as adjusting high quality binoculars. Click sound is easily herd and the torque reached feel is precise. Full revolution adjustments increment by 10 lbs making it easy to find your torque setting. Markings are etched with a distinctive color making them easy to read. It even includes a quick release making socket swapping a snap.

Calibration results are included in the blow molded case. My torque wrench was well within +/- 1% within the top 80% range. I confirmed its calibration using an AllTrade Digital Torque Adapter in my vice, which I confirmed the accuracy of the AllTrade using two different beam torque wrenches.

I was going to get the GearWrench 3/8 drive 85052 to match my GearWrench 1/2 drive 85054, but for about $20 more I'm glad I spent the extra coin on this model.

I did quite a bit of research on torque wrenches and came up with the CDI brand as a very good quality, accurate unit for an excellent price. I then searched for where to buy it for a good price and found the best price on Amazon. I ordered it and received it in a couple of days so I am very pleased.

A number of pro's for this product:
1. It is a solid, well crafted unit and has a metal handle so will not break readily with the amount of abuse I put them through
2. To set the wrench, one rotation is 10. You would not believe how many wrenches go in 15's; you try to figure out (easily) how to get it to 85; not fun.
3. It has a nice solid click when you get there!
4. It has acurate readings (I verified it on a torque wrench bench tester).

Cons:
1. Once I got the wrench I noted that it is not as acurate when you get to the high end or very low end of its range. I was not concerned about the high end but I often do work that requires it to be below 50 ft lbs so I ended up getting another CDI torque wrench (3/8 drive) whose main range is 30-75 to fix that. Keep that in mind when buying this; it works most accurately between 50 and 225. (It is still quite acceptable but I'm a perfectionist when it comes to torque)

Please note that to keep the wrench acurate you need to reset it back to the setting it came at from the factory (in this case 30). There was a document inside indicating this; that was good to know as I was always told to set it all the way out. Not following this every time your done using it is one quick way to have your wrench measurements go out of whack.

Cheers

This is a top notch torque wrench without a ridiculous price. Furthermore, Snap-on/CDI is excellent to deal with. I had some questions regarding this torque wrench, so I called their office and was transferred to someone in their technical team. He was not at his desk, so I left a voice mail expecting to never hear from him, but he called me back within 10 minutes. We spoke for about 15 minutes and he explained everything you could ever want to know about this torque wrench and torque wrenches in general.

You want to pick a torque wrench that will be primarily used in the "middle" range of adjustment. For example, this torque wrench is most accurate between 70-90 ft-lbs. On the calibration sheet that was shipped with the wrench, it was only off by 0.7%.

Also, this is a dual-scale torque wrench. It is hard to tell from the photos, but it is in 10 ft-lb increments on the shaft with 1 ft-lb increments on the handle. On the reverse side it has Nm, but it is not even. If you want Nm to be the primary scale, then you will need product 2003NMRMH.

The only difference between this and the Snap-on version is that the ratchet head on this CDI wrench is made in Taiwan, whereas the Snap-On one is made in USA. Both wrenches are assembled by CDI in California, but the CDI one does not have 100% american made components (everything else is aside from the head). For half the cost, I'll take one with an asian sourced head since I'm not using it professionally.
