Product Description

Editorial Review

Often the best way to get the housework done is to have your children working by your side. When it's time to vacuum, preschoolers can use this toy Hoover right alongside an adult using a real vacuum cleaner. Sized for preschoolers, the navy and black, hard plastic vacuum stands 26.25 inches high and has adjustable levers in front, working lights, and a realistic motor sound. There's a flexible black hose on one side and three yellow plastic attachments inside a storage compartment with a clear door. Though the Hoover is fairly sturdy, the door isn't the most durable part of it; after a while it may begin to fall open, making the attachments fall on the floor. There's also a removable cloth dust bag inside, although the suction action is so slight that very little dirt is actually collected. Four C batteries are required (not included). --Marcie Bovetz

Product Description

This Child's Hoover Upright Vacuum looks and acts just like a grown-up vacuum. Not only does it make realistic vacuum sounds and light up, it really picks up dirt. Comes with a cloth dust collection bag, detachable hose for had-to-reach areas and three cleaning tools. Step on the handle release to lower the handle. Adult supervision recommended. Measures 26" tall. Requires 4 "C" batteries (not included).

5.0 out of 5 stars Baby Girl Twins love this, now I must buy another!, October 28, 2002

This is a favorite toy of my 2-year-old twins. I am here now to purchase a second one, so they can each have their own (it was too much to bear, to see one of them sit on the couch all sad because it isn't her turn!) This outshines the Dirt Devil in every way. It has a very comfortable handle and a nice foot pedal release to make the top tilt backwards, exactly like the real thing. And it only took them a couple minutes to figure it out, even at just over 1 year old. I bought and returned the Dirt Devil vacuum because it doesn't have that feature, and it also has a very uncomfortable handle, even my little girl said "ow" when she tried to use it, so it went back to the store and I decided to get another of these. It is durable overall (they stand on it and sit on it a lot). We have had this almost a year and have only replaced the batteries once, even tho they leave it on for a long time sometimes. It's a great toy, looks almost exactly like my "big vacuum cleaner" and my only complaint is that the hose doesn't stay where it should after so much use. But that is minor and I just have to tape it up there, I guess, because this is the best of the little kid vacuums that I've seen and I can only find it here on Amazon.com...

My son turned two almost two months ago, and while this toy is recommended for ages 3-6, I think it can be appropriate for some two year olds as well.

My son decided about a month ago that he wanted to assist his daddy and brothers with the vacuuming, and he'd grab the handle along with them and "help." So after some consideration, I got him this toy.

It arrived today, and as soon as I got the batteries in it, my son was off and running. He used it for an hour and a half straight, and his little head was all sweaty from "working" so hard! It was very cute.

My only suggestion is that you leave on the tape holding the accessories door on. If they don't want to play with them, these just fall out and get to be a real annoyance.

Since we have only had the toy today, I can't say how long it will last, but for now it's a HUGE hit.

5.0 out of 5 stars So Much Fun!, January 6, 2002

My 2 year old son was always dragging out my vacuum. He has been thrilled to get his own! It lights up and sounds just like a real vacuum. It picks up a small amount of lint too. It is a little difficult for him to turn on and off, but he eventually caught-on. I taped the front door shut so the attatchments don't end up lost. He was not interested in them anyway. Overall this is a great toy for a boy or a girl. I would highly recommend it!
