I have been living in California for 30 years now, but never forgot the coffee my Mom used to fix when I was a kid in New Orleans, half coffee & Chicory and half boiled cows milk, what the french call Cafe A'Lait. Of course I also remember drinking that same coffee and stuffing down biegnets at the Cafe DuMonde and the Morning Call in the French Quarter. Now being in California this long you tend to get Californicated, you know, premium wines, exotic coffee beans, etc., etc. But when I happened on the old familiar can of CDM on Amazon I thought, what the heck, lets see if it brings back any memories, so I ordered a few cans. Am I glad I did. Not only did it bring back memories, but it made me realize that I would have never have found the taste I had been looking for in all those exotic beans I bought because there is no coffe bean in the world that can match the wonderfully strong and complex body of Coffee and Chicory. Probably not for everyone, but absolutely indespensible for us old New Orleans boys.

This is my favorite of the more affordable brands of coffee for making New Orleans style café au lait! I've ordered it several times from Amazon and the quality has always been superb.

this makes a delicious cup of coffee. if you have been to New Orleans and enjoyed the coffee there, you will love this coffee as well.

If you have ever been to New Orleans, taken an early morning walk to the French MArket and then treated yourself to a cup of coffee at the Cafe du Monde - then you already know what awaits for you in a can of CDM - a spicy, rich deep cup of coffee. If you have not been to NOLA before consider this ... if you like rich, hearty coffee - this is a must! It is served Latte style in New Orleans. Any way you like it is a very rich and strong treat!

The coffee was fine, maybe not as good as du monde, but ok. Will go back to du monde next time.

Although the product states CDM, it is not a product that is from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans. It is chicory coffee but it doesn't have the smooth flavor Cafe du Monde coffee has, it's a bit more bitter and I have to mix it with another coffee to smooth it out. I decided to find the actual product that states it is from the Cafe du Monde cafe.

I am a tea drinker, but purchased this for a friend for a gift. He has been very pleased and is enjoying his morning coffee now. Nice change from store brands, and it remind's him of New Orleans and his visits there.

To those of you who wish to purchase the coffee & chicory blend that you remember from your visit (or childhood) in New Orleans, be warned! This CDM is NOT from the original Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans, even though the package makes it look like it is. I purchased this blend thinking that since it says "Cafe du Monde" on it that that meant it was from the actual cafe in New Orleans but it's not. This is some 'knockoff' product from who knows where. Maybe some of you will enjoy the knockoff, but for me, I'm sticking with the original Cafe Du Monde!

New Orleans is one of my favorite cities in the world. Everytime I go, Cafe DuMonde is a must....as I travel and sample coffees around the world, I realize that this is coffee can hold its own. I am sorry they don't sell the beans so I can grind my own...but I love the smoky rich flavor. Really great coffee!!! I can bring a little of Louisiana everywhere I go. Thanks!!

I love chicory but have never had coffee and chicory together, so I was a little apprehensive about purchasing CDM. When it arrived, I immediately made a pot of coffee to see how it tasted. WOW! I was extremely surprised to like it as much as I did. It is now my husband's favorite brand as well!
