MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS make this timer a LOSER,
By Marlene S. (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: CDN TR3 Digital Timer on a "Rope" (Kitchen)
This timer is cute and lightweight (too light!) and mine did work, but it has TWO major design flaws which make it completely useless.First of all, look at the picture. See that big circle under the LCD screen? That's the START/STOP button. It's HUGE and VERY sensitive, which means if you wear it around your neck, any time you lean over or bump anything the timer will start or stop! At times I accidentally brushed against it LIGHTLY with my arm and it stopped. How much can you trust a timer that starts and stops on its own?! What good is it? Now, since it has a clip on the back, you could clip it onto your clothing, except for the SECOND design flaw. The clip is upside-down! If you clip it on yourself, the timer is right-side-up for the rest of the world, but when you try to look at it, it's upside-down. (Get my drift? Think of those clip-on watches...) I'd also like to comment on the Amazon reviewer's claim that the timer is loud enough to be heard in a gym. It would have to be a mighty quiet gym.... All in all, you'd do better to shop elsewhere for your timer. In fact, after trying different ones, I would suggest buying it locally where you can really see what you're getting--and where you won't have to pay for return shipping.

disappointed with cdn tr3 digital timer,

First, the lock switch on the timer does lock it, prevents changing the count-down time. However, an article in a cooking magazine led us to believe that it prevented resetting the timer with the large round start-stop button. This is not true.Second, recently tried this in a crowded restaurant, couldn't hear it beep even when held up near to the ear. Don't understand how it can be heard in a gym.
