I use my solar cell to power an automatic gate. I have had it now for about 2 years and it still works great. Snow, rain, heavy wind don't seem to be a problem. This solar cell was much cheaper than the OEM solar cell for my GTO gate, but works just as well.

This is a non-working solar panel. Turned out to be an expensive door stop. Stay far away from these guys!
