After having my dog's teeth cleaned, my vet gave me a sample of this toothpaste and suggested that we brush daily. Humm, sure, then I remembered the vet bill and thought I would give it a try. I use a child-sized toothbrush and a small amount of this product. At first it was a struggle, but after a couple of weeks my dog would wait at the bathroom door before bed time for her "chicken paste." The vet said that this product will help prevent tarter by its presence in the mouth even if brushing does not occur; any brushing is a bonus. After almost 2 years of using this my dog's teeth still look good, gums are healthy. I am hoping to avoid professional cleaning and the general anesthesia required for this procedure. I was pleasantly surprised to see this product on Amazon, a real savings over the $25 cost at the vet's office. Highly recommended, worth every penny.
