My two cats won't let me go to bed at night until I brush their teeth! They love the taste of the CET Seafood flavored toothpaste - they think of it as a treat! Plus, it's enzymatic so it helps kill bacteria that cause plaque and gingivitis, keeping my cats teeth clean and healthy.

If it wasn't for this toothpaste, I wouldn't be able to have such an easy time brushing their teeth. I highly recommend this toothpaste.

After using this product and other flavors which my Vet at the time recommended, for a year, I noticed our dog's teeth were getting worse, not better so I did the research and found this product loaded w/sorbitol and Destrose which is SUGAR! Not one but two kinds. Dextrose is from honey & sweet fruits and sorbitol is a alcohol sugar. Both add big time to tooth decay! No wonder her teeth were getting unusual worse, let alone the preservatives/chemicals their ingesting. It seems alot of Veternarians have no education on what they are recommending and selling. I found almost all of these toothpastes for animals is full of sugar along w/preservatives and chemicals. Yes, brushing is really good but not w/toothpaste that has sugar in it. Please read your labels and look up the ingredients. You will be amazed. There are natural products here on Amazon that myself and others are using that are really making a difference on tartar on our pets teeth, that don't have sugar and other junk in them. There's ones you brush with, spray on their teeth to mix w/their saliva and another that's a powder you add to their food. There are good choices available.

My cat tolerate this toothpaste and I get to clean his teeth. I use one of my old oral b round electric toothbrush heads to get in his mouth with the toothpaste. He doesn't jump up and down to get his teeth cleaned, but he sits relatively still for a cat and lets me get it done.

My two Shih Tzus absolutely hate having their teeth brushed. It became such a battle to do this and with such small mouths I gave up. They won the power struggle with me trying to use a toothbrush. However, I do use this toothpaste and the C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse. Since my Tzus eat premium dog food that is fish-based and I also add Omega-3 pet oil (anchovy and sardine), by the time they finish eating their meals they both smell like a fish market. I chose to try the Vanilla-Mint flavored toothpaste for my sake and not theirs. Both Tzus absolutely love this flavor. As I said they hate having their teeth brushed so I put it on my finger and do my best to rub it all over their teeth. Also, before I do this I use the C.E.T. Oral Hygiene Rinse. They both actually like the taste of this but not nearly as much as they love the Vanilla-Mint toothpaste.

My reason for letting others know this is because I wasn't sure if my dogs would like Vanilla-Mint and this flavor may not be an obvious choice. It sure makes their breath smell much better after they've had their meals and since I'm the recipient of their kisses, it sure makes it nicer for me too. I hope that it helps somewhat with tartar and hopefully fewer teeth cleanings but I won't know that until their next visit with the vet.

I bought a cat dental kit that included toothpaste with an undisclosed flavor that they disliked:

PetDental Oral Hygiene Kit for Cats & Kittens with Dual Action Toothbrush

Since it's difficult to brush a squirmy kitty's teeth I thought it might be easier if they at least liked the flavor. (They prefer the bare brush to having any paste on it at all.) Since both my cats love fish, I thought seafood would be a good option. My cats liked this paste even less. For one thing, it smelled worse. It didn't smell like seafood. Since no ingredients are listed on the box I don't even know if it even contains any seafood.

The above link has an earlier review I wrote about the importance of the dental hygiene kit and brushing cats' teeth. It's all still relevant but I don't recommend buying this product when the cats like it less than the one that comes in the kit.

i guess this is a personal preference but my cat abhors this paste. she can smell it on my finger or on the toothbrush and she gives me this 'wild' look. :(
it is hard enough to brush a cat's teeth but this makes it even harder. From the cat owners reviews for the seafood product, it seems that most cats dont care for this too much while one owner's cat enjoyed it. oh well. will try another paste flavor or brand once this seafood flavor (which dont even smell like seafood) is no more. i cannot say how well this works b/c havent been religiously brushing my little cat's teeth.

It used to be a complete hassle to brush my dog's teeth, but this makes it easier. Not EASY, just easier. I use 2 doses per brushing, one for each side, so he doesn't fight me as much because he does like the taste. The tartar problem is much improved (the vet recommended cleaning under anesthesia but I opted for this instead, hoping it would work - and it did.) I will continue using this toothpaste for as long as he likes it (it's pricey so I buy it in bulk to pay less per tube.) His breath is much improved, too.
