Not for curly hair,
By chammy (Cincinnati, OH USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: WEN BY CHAZ DEAN SWEET ALMOND CONDITIONER,STYLING CREME, RE-MOIST MASK INTENSIVE HAIR TREATMENT,TEXTURE BALM,WIDE TOOTH SHOWER COMB,5 PIECE SET (Misc.)
I had really high hopes for this product after watching the infomercial. I have naturally curly hair and I'm always looking for products that will give me frizz control without weighing my hair down or making it crunchy. This product smells great, but it made my hair look greasy even without using it as a leave-in conditioner (and I don't have oily hair). It also left it twice as frizzy, regardless of which products I used after washing. My hair was definitely softer than before, but completely out of control.
The styling cream seems like it could be a decent product on its own, but beware of using with any other products as it will congeal and leave you with little gelatinous chunks in your hair! I think that for someone with straight hair, this would probably be a decent product. It smells great all day, make your hair soft, but it just doesn't control the frizz. I can't recommend it to anyone with naturally curly hair.

This Wen is not Winning for Me - Afro Hair,
This review is from: WEN BY CHAZ DEAN SWEET ALMOND CONDITIONER,STYLING CREME, RE-MOIST MASK INTENSIVE HAIR TREATMENT,TEXTURE BALM,WIDE TOOTH SHOWER COMB,5 PIECE SET (Misc.)
I saw the Try Wen infomercial, ordered, and am now convinced that a person or the ordering software should be specifically asking "What hair type are you," in order to receive the right Wen for your hair. For 2 consecutive days I used this product package but after my hair dried each time, it looked dried out and frizzy. I have thick, course, Afro hair. I need moisture!!! Especially, with a curly, comb-through texturizer (Elasta QP) in my hair. From what I understand now, I should have tried the Wen, Fig formula but how was I to know when the TV sellers push, "This product is good for all hair types?" There is no Fig package offered on the commercial, it's pushing Sweet Almond Mint, the package I ordered - which smells a little mediciny, like menthol.Great News! While researching, I learned that Sally's Beauty Supply has their own, much cheaper version of Wen called Hair One - also found right here on Amazon. Here again, you must get the right formula for your hair! I'm going to try the dry-hair formula with Olive Oil, which now, sounds about right for me. If this doesn't work, it's back to using oils or grease or styling gels, and most definitely shampoo, while I wait for the next big thing that will greatly aid in ethic hair care. I have also been informed: Both "Wen" and "Hair One" are mainly conditioners. If treating and washing your hair and scalp without shampoo is all you're after, either Suave Conditioner or Alberto Vo5 Conditioner will do a better job because of an added cleaning ingredient. Both are under $3 each and both are found right here on Amazon, but neither contains the added ingredients which target specific hair-type needs. I do hope this is helpful.

Misleading, overpriced, and doesn't work,
This review is from: WEN BY CHAZ DEAN SWEET ALMOND CONDITIONER,STYLING CREME, RE-MOIST MASK INTENSIVE HAIR TREATMENT,TEXTURE BALM,WIDE TOOTH SHOWER COMB,5 PIECE SET (Misc.)
I got this product from an infomercial. I tried it but 30 days really isn't enough time to see if it works. I actually decided to give 60 days to see any improvement. I followed the instructions which left my hair feeling dirty. My friends, family or even hair dresser didn't see any difference. They were all anxious to see how it worked. The product was reasonable in the infomercial; however they neglect to tell you that if you cancel the order which is automatically sent they charge you a membership fee(It's not a cheap fee either). I know because I had to cancel due to not being able to temporarily work, and my being unhappy with the results of the product. I was told oh well I will be charged a membership fee anyway. I've ordered stuff before like this that had auto shipping and cancelled for whatever reason and never got charged a membership fee. I have reordered some of those other products because I really liked them. This is one site or product I would never get again. In fact I use Dove Hair care which costs a fraction of this product and works better. People see the difference in my hair. In fact they did after a week of using Dove. My opinion this is a waste of money and a fraud.
