I bought this book at my local auto parts store when I had to replace a blower motor and the blower motor switch. This book was so off the mark in reference to taking the dashboard apart to access the blower motor switch (it did not tell you that you had to loosen the under panel under the steering wheel in addition to the instrument bezel cluster) and so off the mark in reference to the blower motor (there were five screws instead of three screws and the manual did not tell you that the stud that the coolant resevoir mounted to gets in the way of removing the blower motor. You literally have to remove the stud to get the blower motor out of the truck)

A pathetic excuse for a manual. Next time, I will buy a Chiltons

With a mix of 94-97 photos and instructions for the 98+ models (and vice-versa) this book is about as useful as the owner's guide provided by GM when you purchase the vehicle new. Very few of the procedures I read for guidance (wiper control module, U-joint, airbag body control module, ashtray bulb replacement, dash panel removal, et.al.) provided assistance. A poor do-it-yourself book... I'm off to look for the GM service manual at a fair price.

This it is my second manual Hayne, first was of automobiles Cherokee Jeep and in this opportunity of Blazer Chevrolet, both show to much general information for maintenance and repair of the vehicles. Perhaps it is not specialized for mechanical works, but it is a very good guide of the basic procedures and main parts considered in a repair or replacement of parts of the vehicle. I recommend it.

Book has most of what a shade tree mechanic would need. I bought the truck used without an owners manual so this will help.

I have used this manual for guidance in replacing an AC evaproator core, a clutch master cylinder and to repair an electrical problem.
The AC section neglected to tell about two heater housing bolts that are inaccessible until you remove the right inner fender splash shield, the engine control system, etc.
The clutch master cylinder instructions describe a safety start switch that is not installed on my truck.
The electrical section is very incomplete. It doesn't even have complete electrical schematics.

The manual may have been based on a complete tear-down of some vehicle but it was not based on my vehicle. I have gotten Haynes manuals before but I certainly do not now recommend anyone buy one in the future. I will just by the real thing from the manufacturer.

I usually get Haynes Manuals for every car/pickup I get. These far surpass any other manual out there. Since I've been looking on Amazon I have always found good deals on these books. Take this one for example, I bought it used. The comment was, "it might have smudges from use". "normal wear and tear". But, you know what, looks as good as new to me, and the price was great! Most, if not all, that I have bought have been better than described. I will continue looking to Amazon first for any books I get. I've never had a bad deal with any of the sellers here!

best book ever.i have a haynes manual for every vehicle i have ever owned. if you dont understand it, then you shouldnt be taking your vehicle apart.
