I have been looking for this compilation for years. I had it in LP and all my efforts to find it had been until now useless.
It's a fantastic group and beautiful carols. At least I won't have to try again this Xmas to emulate this group with very debateable results and my family will appreciate!!!

They are completely different from the tradition carols in the anglo saxon culture, but they take you into a different dimension, that is not necessarily religious, with a different warmth and depth.

Definitely recommend them to all those who like harmonious music.

This CD has always been the #1 selling Polish Chirstmas Carol (Koledy) album, and is still considered to be the best. Mazowsze and Slask are the top two Polish Folk Song and Dance companies in the world, and with 12 songs by Mazowsze and 5 by Slask, you know you this is the gold standard.
There are a few CD's out there that have some of these songs, but not all, so do check the track listings.
Meanwhile, Mazowsze has released a newer CD that I like better, because it has more the Polonaise feel to it. (Polish carols are mostly Polonaise tempo).
It is called Koledy Polskie, and is a re-issue of their Koledy i Pastoralki CD (Carols and Pastorales). It has 19 cuts and includes two solos with Stanislaw Jopek.
There is also a Live version of this, called Polska Wigilia (Polish Christmas Eve), with 15 songs.
Slask also has 3 newer Christmas CD's: Christmas Carols, Cicha Noc (Silent Night), & Swieta Noc (Holy Night) part of their zlota kolekcja (golden collection).
All of these CD's are worth the price, but first you need to own the CD featured here: Koledy, Chirstmas Carols from Mazowsze & Slask. This is the classic album. A must have for all traditional Christmas celebrations !!

The music on this CD is supurb-quite suited to the Christmas season. All the tracks are titled in the original Polish with English translations-and yes, it is recorded in stereophonic high fidelity. There are 17 tracks in all providing over 1 hour of joyous Christmas music-great for listening to while decorating the tree; and as ambient music after the decorating is done and you admire the overall Christmastime atmosphere your finished tree has created in your living room. In short, this is one of the best recordings of Polish Christmas music one is likely to find on the market today. If you get it-you will certainly enjoy it.

It isn't easy to find Polish Christmas Carols and this CD was perfect for the holidays. Friends of mine are requesting copies.

This has a very nice selection of the most familiar carols. I love the way it sounds. The voices are terrific and do not overpower the music and vice versa. It seems perfect to me and the price is resonable. The one to get and enjoy.

Totally enjoyable cd but I found it a bit difficult to play in some cd players. Not sure why. Played perfectly in some, but refused to play in others. Not brand specific.
