More About the Author

Catherine has written dozens of books - primarily historical in nature. She writes family-friendly historical fiction, simple to understand non-fiction, and is co-editor of a growing art appreciation series, Enjoying Great Art. Most of her books are available in paperback and e-book versions.

One of Catherine's first loves is Leonardo da Vinci; her books on him are enjoyed by both students and adults and include:
*Leonardo the Florentine (historical fiction) - her first novel - the beginning of the "Life and Travels of Da Vinci" series
*Leonardo: Masterpieces in Milan (historical fiction) - book 2
*Leonardo: To Mantua and Beyond (historical fiction) - book 3
*Leonardo: A Return to Florence (historical fiction) - book 4
(Book 5 should be out sometime in 2015.)
*Da Vinci: His Life and His Legacy (one of Catherine's first non-fiction books)
*Leonardo da Vinci Topical Study - a great tool for those who want to teach/learn about this amazing man
*Exploring Da Vinci's Last Supper
*In Art: Leonardo
*Kit and Cathy in Search of Leonardo (book 10 in the Horsey and Friends series)

As a Government Club Adviser and teacher of high school economics and the U.S. Constitution, Catherine has authored a number of books about those important topics, including:
*Understanding the United States Constitution
*The Philadelphia Convention A Play for Many Readers

*A Conservative Primer on Government and Economics
(also released under the title, There Ought to Be a Law - to please her students!)

*Failure in Philadelphia? - historical fiction about the Constitutional Convention, told from the perspective of a young British spy
*The Philadelphia Convention: In Their Own Words (letters and journals from the convention)
*Understanding (and Teaching) the United States Constitution
*A Brief Financial History of the United States
*Simply Put: A Study In Economics (Student Book and Teacher Book)
*Notes from Frederick Bastiat's Essays on Political Economy
*A Brief Look at Machiavelli and The Prince

Catherine has been writing topical studies and lapbooks for herself and other teachers (homeschool teacher and classroom teachers) for decades now. Some of her titles in that genre include:

Catherine travels regularly, with and without her children. She wrote her first travel journal when she was nine years old, when her family traveled from Panama to the United States. Since then she has traveled extensively throughout the United States, including following the Lewis and Clark Trail, and making several trips to Europe. As part of those travels she has authored an entire series of travel books, the Horsey and Friends series, where their travel stories are told by a stuffed animal!
*The Adventures of Horsey in Panama
*Bandit Goes to Washington
*Alligator Al's Adventures in Florida
*Henrietta Visits Greenfield Village
*The Lewis and Clark Expedition: Jaime-style
*Stars Over Central America: The Journal of a Nine-Year-Old
*Stars Over Panama

Her other books include:
*New York City Facts & Fun
*Jamestown: The Birth of a Nation
*The Creatures, Creation, And Creator At The Galapagos Islands
*CHRISTmas Fun:: History, Traditions, Verses and Hymns
*Christ Our Passover Lamb
*The Attack Trilogy (historical short stories set in Cappadocia, Turkey, Shkdora, Albania, and Wuerzburg, Germany)
and many, many more...

Catherine continues to work on her art appreciation series. Family-friendly art books on a variety of topics. It started small enough:
*In Art: Hats
*In Art: Animals
*In Art: Books
*In Art: Bridges

Since then her art series has grown by leaps and bounds and now includes dozens of titles, including:
In Art: Scions of Africa
In Art: Candlelight
In Art: Self-Portraits
In Art: Food
In Art: Horses
In Art: Lighthouses
In Art: Cats
In Art: Trees
In Art: Necklaces
Each is a fun and different way to appreciate great art!

We first read this book a couple of years ago, but every CHRISTmas we find ourselves going back to it to look up some little detail, or some fun fact. This small book is packed with lots of great information.
