5.0 out of 5 stars Season 4 Rocks!, December 17, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: CHiPs: Season 4 (DVD)
This 1980-81 Season of this police drama was probably the best season of them all throughout CHiPs whole 6-year run on NBC and is definetly a lot more upgraded than CHiPs first 3 seasons even though this season still left us mourning the loss of Jon & Ponch's spunky fellow officer Sindy Cahill(Brianne Leary)from Season 2, since the action and drama in CHiPs 4th Season is more sophisticated, plus the hairstyles and all the co-stars are better looking with better hairstyles and everything, plus all the CHP cruisers are better looking and more upgraded than the CHP units they used in the first 3 seasons, since this was the season when CHiPs started using '79 Dodge Monaco's instead of the older cheesy looking Dodge's that were used in Seasons 1 thru 3.

CHiPs Fourth Season also takes me all the way back to memory lane when I used to watch CHiPs every Sunday night on NBC and takes me all the way back to memory lane when Ronald Reagan was elected president in November of 1980 and had all those budget cuts, due to the recession we had back in 1981-1982.

This 1980-1981 Season also had some of the best episodes throughout CHiPs whole 1977-83 run on NBC like
-The Great 5K Star Race & Boulder Wrap Party when Ponch(Erik Estrada) & Jon(Larry Wilcox) patrol in Malibu and pursue jewel thieves(Ken Berry, Alex Rocco) and do traffic control on Pacific Coast Highway and later participate in a CHP charity event with numerous celebrity cameo apperances like Milton Berle, Donna Mills, Susan Richardson, Betsy Palmer, Conrad Bain, Todd Bridges, etc.

-Karate: Ponch decides to start a boys & girls club as a karate instructor to keep troubled kids off the street to help them unionize against an ex-fagin con(Lewis Van-Bergen) who uses juvenile delinquents to do his dirty work

-The Poachers: Jon & Ponch help a harrassed young boy & his father being harrassed by illegal poachers in the forest who are hunting down deer illegally in the hills.

-Satans Angels: Bonnie(Randi Oakes) gets kidnapped by an over-the-hill motorcycle gang who tries to use Bonnie for ransom by extorting the CHP.

-Sick Leave: Ponch & Jon encourage a fellow CHP officer(Robert Viharo)with terminal illness to take light duty, but his stubborness ends up endangering Ponch & Jon and other motorist in the process.

-Wheels Of Justice: Ponch & Jon try to get a drunk driver(Josh Bryant) convicted and off the streets, but the drunk driver ends up killing his wife(Christine Belford)at the end of this episode while the chippies end up contributing to the nursuing of infant babies who are evacuated from the hospital that were involved in a traffic accident caused by a reckless driver

-11-99: Officer Down: The chippies use walkie talkie emergency devices to help track their positions to increase back-up security while Ponch & Jon crack down on warehouse crooks shipping illegal and lethal merchandise while Ponch helps a rookie police dispatcher(Kitty Moffat)improve her tune.

-New Guy In Town: The chippies are overwhelmed by a rookie motor cop(Joseph Hacker)who temporarily partners up with Ponch while Jon gets hurt in the line of duty by a sadistic bitter man trying to avenge Ponch & Jon.

-Vigilante: Ponch & Jon crack down on an obsessed overzealous vigilante harrassing drunk & reckless drivers, due to being in mourning of his son being killed by a drunk driver, but ends up crossing the line in the process.

-A Simple Operation: Sgt. Getraer(Robert Pine) gets injured in the line of duty while being in hot pursuit and someone tries to kill him in the hospital.

-Ponch's Angels: Ponch & Jon train a couple of rookie motor cops while tracking down escaped prisoners and cracking down on pick-pocket thieves in the park

-Go-Cart Terror: Ponch & Jon start a juvenille go-cart team group to keep young kids out of trouble while Ponch & Jon track down furniture store crooks.
