Have owned the Oasis XL for several years, dog chewed through electric wire to wall. Now, have upgraded to the XL Plus for my 300 stick humidor, and, voila, the BEST! Set it and forget it. The water reservoir is huge, have tried to fill it again after two weeks running, but it had remained mostly full. Digital light remains on all the time, but have been told this is normal. Set it at 71 and it remains at 71, with fan turning on only occasinally, as needed. Cigars nice and moist, but not too moist, just right. Do it!

So the last thing I want to worry about is losing my
small investment in my top of the line cigars. I have like
many cigar smokers struggled with the worry of keeping cigars
in the correct conditions. The Cigar Oasis has ended
all that worry for me. I have two humidors in two seperate
residences that I jump between. Both have a Cigar Oasis in
them to keep my cigars in the best condition. One of
the worlds best inventions for those of us who truely
love a good cigar in the perfect condition !

This humidifier is the solution to the too dry or too wet cigar storage problem. I put this product in my cabinet cigar humidor, and the humidity stays within 2 degrees of 70% at 70 degrees temperature. I highly recommend the Cigar Oasis as the solution to proper cigar storage.

I replaced an older version Oasis with this one. I got over 7 years of service from the last one and, probably just needed to replace the reservoir, but I decided to go for the newer, digital version.

Like the older version it is a bit noisy when running, not enough to be a real bother, but I would think it could be more quiet. I use this in a 350 cigar humidor which is usually packed and it does a very nice job of maintaining a constant humidity. The digital display added nothing really, in my case. Since the unit is placed at the bottom of the humidor,and since there is some restricted air flow (good, not great design on the part of the humidor, still most humidors I have seen are similar) the readout on the Oasis is indicative of where it is sitting, not necessarily the entire humidor. In my case, to get a constant average 70% humidity across the humidor, I needed to set the Oasis to 74%.

All in all a good product and I was very satisfied with the performance and lifespan of the older version that I had.

I am a long-time woodworker and cigar smoker. I've made some very high end humidors, using Spanish Cedar and Mahogany, with very tight joints and magnetic closers. I assure you, my humidors are built to maintain even humidity. Still, its been a challenge to find the right no-hassle, passive humidity method. I've experimented with crystals, gels, blocks, ...you name it. I can't believe I waited so long to try the cigar oasis. Its perfect. Very even humidity, minimal maintenance, fan-circulated humidity. The ribbon cord allows me to easily build in unobtrusive electrical access (or, for a non-custom built application, just lay it across the opening). My humidors range from $300 - $5,000. Even the least expensive of them, filled with several hundred dollars worth of cigars, justify the cost of the Oasis.

I bought this about 2-3 years ago and it has done an excellent job maintaining the humidity level for my cigars. Set the level you want and fill with water about once every 3 weeks. It is quiet and the ribbon cable allows a tight fit for the lid. However, it now doesn't read the correct humidity, says it is 45 when my other hygrometer reads 60, and runs constantly. It doesn't seem to be doing what it's supposed to because the water hasn't changed level in about 5 weeks even though the fan runs constantly. I am going to see if I can clean it out and make it work again but I have gone back to tubes for now. Nothing lasts forever but for this price I wish it had lasted longer. Update: I spent a little time on it, ran warm water through the reservoir and completely reset it. It seems to be registering correctly and is even running quieter than it has been recently. It's a nice little device and will hopefully give me another 3 years of service. It has always kept my 100 cigar humidor at the perfect humidity. Other than adding water every few weeks it has been worry free up until this. But it is working now and you really can't complain about having to do a little maintenance once every 3 years.

I had my Cigar Oasis XL for 2 years now and it was sitting in a 250 cigar humidor. It worked fine for about a year and a half, then it started to have problems. Initially the humidity display would not turn on when pressing the button, then the set buttons did not work all the time and ultimately it stopped working in regards to setting the humidity and wasted some of my cigars as they were dried out when I took them out. I contacted the manufacturer who only provides a one year warranty and did not even get a response back. Considering the high price for a low quality and not overly complex electronic devide, I would have expected a more responsive support.
Electronic humidification is a great thing and I will buy a new one, I am just not sure if it is going to be a Cigar Oasis one again.

After buying and stocking a desktop humidor (holds 300 cigars) I was constantly having to check on the humidity levels provided by passive humidity packs. The level was never consistent and I was often concerned about my cigar investment. I bought the XL Plus and put it in the humidor. The XL's height is such that I needed to remove the top tray of my humidor, which is OK as I do not have it filled to capacity anyway. The XL has kept my stash super fresh by its consistent humidity and air circulating fan. I can hear the unit run briefly about every 20 to 30 minutes. It is sort of loud but I don't mind since I know it is keeping my cigars in such great condition! I would highly recommend this product.

I got this for my spouse and it has never worked. We live in Arizona and we haven't found anything that will keep the humidor humidified.
