I just picked up one of these today from best buy ($59) because my iPad came in the mail today & I wanted it protected from the get go. I love it! The leather is beautiful quality, iPad fits very snugly, front cover folds over back for low angle typing angle & and elastic band wraps around cover to keep it closed like a Moleskin notebook and around cover when it is in the typing position. Perfect! Nothing to stick out and snag on anything, break off, or whatever!

I tried and I tried to use my DodoCase, three months. I really wanted to love that case, the guys that are building them are trying so hard to be innovative and green, the bamboo holder, and the book binding cover. After my iPad fell out of the bamboo for the twentieth time, I had it.

Enter this sweet similar form case. The DodoCase is going back. This isn't the most beautiful case in the world. But it is super functional. There is no way in the world my iPad is ever falling out of this thing. The cover and back have hefty padding. The elastic band to hold the flap in place is super heavy duty. The cover material is probably faux leather, but a really nice version. It actually feels very nice in hand, firm and not soft. I particularly like the interior, kind of a satin smooth soft finish.

All ports are accessible while in the case. It will take a little time to break this in and get the flap to bend around more easily. The headphone jack is slightly obstructed by a hold down band, it is pretty easy to push the iPad and allow easy headphone plug in.

Overall the case is a bit fat, but that is a good thing, it protects the device. I'm not afraid to carry this on an airplane; my iPad is very well protected. For a final bit of protection, I put the whole business inside a neoprene netbook sleeve.

I'm sad to say goodbye to my DodoCase. But I'm happy I found an excellent replacement that is ten dollars cheaper. I would say that this is a very good price quality relationship; I'm not going to cheap on protecting a six hundred dollar device.

Over time the front cover has warped a little. Nothing bad, just a slight cupping. I'm somewhat particular with my technology and this annoys me a little bit.

August 2011 update - well over time the warping got worse and annoyed me more and more. I no longer use this case. The Otterbox Communter case is my current case. I'm fairly happy with that case.

I just purchased this case. It is the best case out there, after having been newly updated! Many of the reviews that I have read that are a couple of months old have stated that there were two problems with the case:

(1) Ipad connecton slots did not line up properly, and

(2) The Ipad tended to shift positions while in the case and needed to be re-aligned every time in order to use the Ipad.

Good news! The case I just purchased aligns perfectly with all connections and functions and now has a small tab at the opening that wraps tightly around the top of the case and then velcros to the interior of the case.....When in place, this tab is totally invisible and holds the Ipad perfectly in the case.

I noticed another improvement in the latest case: The placement of the slots that hold the case in the horizontal viewing positions has changed somewhat. I assume that because of some of the negative reviews regarding the most horizontal position not holding the case firmly in place, the slots have been moved slightly back.
All slots now provide a solid foundation in their viewing positions.

Someone at Incase must be listening...The latest version is superb! Just make sure that you are getting the upgraded case.

I recently purchased the Deep Violet version of this cover for my wife and the black for myself. I had seriously been looking at the DodoCase as I love the Moleskine styling that both cases hare. I lucked out and got the InCase Book cases for $25 and $35 each (Violet nad Black respectively).

This case hold the iPad the most securely and well padded of almost any other case I have tried (and I have tried more than a few*looks at stack of substandard case*). The only other case I have found that is close is the Sena Zip Leather Cover. The only reason the InCase rates higher is how securely the iPad is held in with the combination of frame and Velcro. The Sena has the standard two leather straps and two elastic straps, which should eventually wear out.

My only wish now is that InCase made a version of this cover for the Sony Reader PRS-650 Touch Edition. I need that kind of protection for all my gadgets.

Incase's PU jacket is a heavy, but therefore heavy duty, iPad case. Keeps the device well protected, buttons and ports aren't all that hard to access and I haven't noticed any objectionable odors (PU?). However, the PU loses a star or 2 in my review because THE COVER WARPS, convexly. That is, when it's lying flat on the desk, the cover is bulging upward. For a company that's been making cases for all kinds of devices for a while, this is a design issue that should have been engineered past before they rolled it out.

EPILOGUE: Bending it back to flat works fine. I was afraid I'd crack the presumed cardboard interior, but no. I leaned on it until it was back to planar geometry and believe it or don't, it's stayed that way ever since (several months). So there is a simple obvious fix. Go for it. Still heavy, but has fared very well with daily use.
