We spent Spring Break week in March 2006 on Captiva and Sanibel Islands, Florida. The best shell collecting beaches in the continental U.S. that we have found. We came home with more than a dozen quart size zip-lock bags full of shells. Where to put them? They had been in a shoe box under a sink in the guest bathroom. We saw these fish-shaped glass containers in some of the shops in Sanibel, but they were very expensive and hard to carry on an airplane home to Texas. So, I went surfing on the Internet, where one can find everything and anything one might need and a lot of things one doesn't need, and here on Amazon.com was a decent selection of fish-shaped glass containers. We bought the medium size one. About the length of this computer keyboard and half the height of the monitor. A good size container -- not too small, not too big. Thick glass sidewalls. This is not a delicate glass container. I think we got 6 or 8 bags of shells inside. Just about topped it out. The mouth is lower than the very top, so at some point, stuff starts to fall out, but for shells, you can push them on back and have room for the bigger ones to rest on top of the pile, but still inside. Shipping packaging was substantial and it arrived in perfect condition. This is hands down, no holds barred, the VERY best fish-shaped glass container I have ever purchased in my ENTIRE life. ... ... ... ... OK, this is the ONLY fish-shaped glass container I have ever purchased, but that's not the point. If you are in the market for a fish-shaped glass container for holding shells, or anything else, this is the one to buy.
