5.0 out of 5 stars Amplified phone with tone enhancement
I am very pleased with this telephone. For the first time in many years, I am now able to hear and understand people that have faint and high pitched voices. Most women and a few men I simply could not understand what they said without constantly asking them to repeat. The gain and tone controls of this phone are handy and adjustable while listening.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ultra Clear Telephone
It makes the sounds louder, but not clearer. Has some value but not as much as expected from the description of this product.

I purchase for a large metal fabricating plant. We have been searching for a phone that has good range, even around all the large machinery. Because of the same machinery we needed a ringer that could be heard above the shop noise. The Clearsound CS-A-50 is the answer to our searching, it has excelient range, it has a loud ringer, plus it vibrates and lights up when it rings. We have tried over 50 other phones, some costing over $[...], none of them even come close to this phone. With the price and service we got from Amazon.com it made this phone an awsome deal.

Good product, works well, but since many users will be seniors, more thought should have been given to human factors engineering, especially regarding button assignments. Why have a single button for on AND off. most phones have discrete buttons, much more intuitive. Operation of memory button also proves problematic when trying to redial a caller id entry. Good product with flawed user interface.

1.0 out of 5 stars Failed almost immediately...overpriced, inferior product, January 2, 2010
This review is from: CLEAR SOUNDS - Alternative Model CLS-CS-A55 - 793537301008 (Electronics)
I purchased the ClearSounds phone to assist a family member with hearing impairment. Initially, we had some difficulty with the non-intuitive controls, but eventually were able to make it function fairly well. Within 30 days, however, the phone ceased to function and we suspected that the rechargeable batteries had failed. After purchasing replacement rechargeable batteries and allowing 24 hours for a full recharge, the phone will still not operate at all. We are now be forced to seek a replacement or (preferably) a refund.

In my opinion, this is a grossly overpriced, inferior product. There are much better wireless, amplified phones available at a much lower cost.

NOTE:If I can obtain a free replacement for this faulty phone that functions properly, I will delete this review. Until then, please heed my advice and purchase a different product.

Got this for my 81 year old mother and she hated it. I don't use it and would return it if possible. It squeals with her hearing aids and the voice is not clear to the people on the other end.
