I purchased a CS2000M from [...] for someone in my family who cannot hear at all in one ear and wears a hearing aid in the other. Even with the hearing aids, the television has to be very loud for her to hear, which is disruptive for others in the room. ClearSounds advertising claims the CS2000M is "Designed to work with or without hearing aids," (see [...] However, my family member's hearing aid would squeal when she tried to wear the CS2000M headphones. I contacted ClearSounds customer service and they explained that their headphones are only compatible with hearing aids with telecoils that can be turned off. I explained that no where on their website does it state that and I would like to return the CS2000M to them. To paraphrase, they said I should have known better, refused to take the CS2000M back, and insisted I contact [...] from whom I purchased it. Although it was well after their 14 day return policy, [...] did agree to accept the merchandise.

The CS2000M system is quite finicky in regards to vertical and lateral positioning relative to the headphones. It was difficult to find a position for the transmitter so that there not a significant amount of static/interference heard in the headphones. The listener has a small window of good reception relative to the placement of the transmitter. This was true whether the TV's audio out or speaker was used as the input to the transmitter. If you are within the sweet spot the performance is pretty good.

It may be that there is nothing better on the market, but if I knew someone with the need for a product like this, I would suggest they try a different manufacturer first. [...]! I think their communication, courtesy, and professionalism is second to none.

I purchased these to listen to TV in the kitchen. I usually have it so loud my wife complains about the high volume drowning out her TV in the family room. They work great! Simple to use and they are very reliable.

I did order a second set (not from Amazon) which are the newer model for plasma TVs. Stay away from those. They are horrible and not worth the money.

This model is well worth the money and perform fantastic.

Do yourself a favor and do not buy this product. Unless you are within a few feet of the transmitter and precisely aligned with the IR beam, all you get is static. Even when it is working at its best, the sound is terrible, having a lot of distortion. I give it 0 stars.
