Best CLEP Review On The Market,
By "Proud Mamma" (Louisville, Kentucky) - See all my reviews
This review is from: CLEP Principles of Marketing, 5th Ed. (REA) -The Best Test Prep for the CLEP Exam (CLEP Test Preparation) (Paperback)
Grab as many of the Rea Clep reviews as you can get your hands on. The one for Marketing is excellent-but they all are. My daughter earned over 40 credits in CLEP and I earned over 50 credits. Take it from us-you can earn college credits just by reading the Rea books cover to cover and then taking the practice exams.Needless to say, many years of sitting in a classroom were bypassed. My daughter greaduated from college and started law school at 19 thanks to CLEP EXAMS-She used the Rea study guides almost exclusively. Good Luck!

I should have studied this book more. I passed the CLEP and I studied this book only a few nights before the test. I could have scored higher if I studied and read this book more. It's very thorough and well-organized. It's the only book you'll need for the Marketing CLEP test. However, unlike the author's recommendation of studying for 6 weeks, a maximum of 2 weeks is all you need for studying. The CLEP has A LOT of word problems so study those more. Good luck on your test!

The only book you'll need.,
This review is from: CLEP Principles of Marketing, 5th Ed. (REA) -The Best Test Prep for the CLEP Exam (CLEP Test Preparation) (Paperback)
I just passed the Marketing CLEP exam this morning with 8 points to spare. I have never taken a Marketing class before, and this is the only book I looked over to prepare for the test. If you have a general knowledge and awareness of sales and business, you should pass if you review this book.My only recommendation is not to take the weeks the author suggests for preparing for the test. 45 minutes every day for a week is all you should need, MAX. Also, on the practice exams in the book there are a lot of 'All of the Above' or 'None of the Above' answer choices. There wasn't a single question like that on the actual exam.

I read all 75 pages of this book (the rest is practice exams and I didn't bother with them) and passed the exam with a score of 72 today. If you spend more than 5 hours studying for this exam you're wasting your time.

pretty good, but could be better,

this review is written for those who have some basic knowledge of marketing. looking in hindsight at how i studied for the clep, i think this book is COMPLETELY backwards. it's basically split into 2 parts. the first part is the reading material, and the second part is the exams.i studied by reading the material first, and then taking the practice exams. however, once i got to the exams i was surprised to learn that they are A LOT more comprehensive than the reading materials, and ask more advanced questions/topics. i had to refer to my old textbook for some of the questions. fortunately, many (~25%) of the book's practice questions were on the actual clep exam. i ended up getting a 74/80. if i were to take this test over again, i would definitely start by doing an exam FIRST, and then reviewing the questions i got wrong. as you go through the exams, your score will gradually improve. this way you focus on the things you actually need to study, instead of wasting time on topics you already know.

I studied this book cover to cover for one week and I got a 73 out of 80 on the CLEP. I couldn't have done it without this book because I knew nothing about Marketing.

All you need for this clep exam!,
This review is from: CLEP Principles of Marketing, 5th Ed. (REA) -The Best Test Prep for the CLEP Exam (CLEP Test Preparation) (Paperback)
I studied only this book for 3 days (about 8 total hours) and easily passed this clep exam with a 71 out of 80. Most of the ideas in this book are somewhat comman knowledge - its just a matter of knowing the actual terms and definitions that are used in marketing. I also used the practice exams in the book and found them to be similar to the test.

Get's the Job Done!,

This review is from: CLEP Principles of Marketing, 5th Ed. (REA) -The Best Test Prep for the CLEP Exam (CLEP Test Preparation) (Paperback)
This book is fantastic. I had no prior education in marketing and started looking through this book 2 weeks before the exam and I got a 71 EASILY. I would suggest skimming through the study material in the first part of the book and then concentrating on the practice exams. There were very few questions on the actual CLEP exam about areas not addressed by this book. Buy this book, take the test, and save yourself a lot of time and money!!

I read this book once and took the review tests 3 times and passed this morning with a 61. It was not the best score but I just saved myself 17 weeks and $350. Concentrate on the review questions. Many of the question's objectives aren't discussed in the book so you must understand why the answer is right. Good Luck!

I think that this book was very good, though it does not cover everything that is in the exam. I knew absolutely nothing about marketing before getting this book, and I studied for about three days and I passed with a 62. A word of advice though, I would not spend a whole lot of time reading the chapters, I would focus more on taking the practice tests and reading the explanations.
