Only 2 reviews?,

This review is from: CLINIQUE by Clinique: SKIN SUPPLIES FOR MEN:CREAM SHAVE (TUBE)--/4.2OZ (Misc.)
I have been addicted to Clinique Cream Shave since I found it back in NYC, maybe 25 years ago.If you try it for a week or so to get used to it, you will realize what junk the pressurized foam stuff is - Edge gel or Gillette Foam - whatever. All that matters is the layer that is touching your skin. So why apply some air filled whipped cream? The Clinique is a better tool for the job - it helps the blade slide rather than rip. It is both expensive and a pain to find sometimes - so I will try other stuff. (Billy Jealousy is good. So is Jack Black - but they are both MORE expensive than Clinique). But I always go back to this. The trick is just get your face wet, then spread a thin layer (a schmear if you're from NYC). It really doesn't take much. The razor glides, doesn't bump and pull and the cream has an antiseptic feel and smell when you are finished that makes your face feel like it hasn't been hacked to pieces. A tube lasts a long time. I will go out to whatever department store has it in stock - you have to go into the cosmetics section - and buy 6 tubes at a time. I will also cut the tube apart when it gets down to the dregs because I am cheap and you can get another week out of it. I have tried and been unimpressed with the Clinique post shave stuff. The aloe stuff isn't bad - but it really isn't much different from any hand/face cream. I use Lubriderm because 1) it is on the sink anyway since my wife uses it, 2) it has sunblock in it and 3) it doesn't cost a whole lot. There. Now I am a metrosexual. Or at least I play one on Amazon.

Simply the Best,

I have been an Amazon shopper for a long time and have been asked often to review many products. I like almost everything I order from the company, but have been loath to write a review for no better reason than I just don't want to take the time. The Cream Shave is my one exception. I will travel to the ends of the earth (that is, if it's flat) to procure Clinique Shave Cream. It is by far the best shave cream, including gels, foams, etc., that I've ever used. On rare occasion, I run out and have to resort to what other makers claim is the best shaving product around. I beg to differ.I have never had a more consistently close and smooth shave than with the Cream Shave. You don't need a lot, as I have read in another review. A fairly thin layer is all that's required and it never dries on your face. What I do to begin is to shave above my upper lip (the mustache area) and chin, as they grow the most stubble and are the most sensitive areas. Then I put on a second layer in the shaved area and shave it again along with the rest of my face. That way, I get the closest shave imaginable with no nicks. And, btw, the applied Cream Shave stays moist all along. I cannot recommend this product strongly enough. One of my lifelong quests, which I'm sure I share with many men, has (had) been to get the perfect shave. I even tried electric razors much to my sensitive skin's displeasure. At long last about 15 years ago, I discovered Clinique Cream Shave and it's been smooth sailing (I mean, shaving) ever since. My only regret is that I now take a smooth, close shave for granted. 2115|R3KSYEJ6HOO748;2115|R1ON73QQVOBOJT;2115|R11FBFIU2NE79R;
