My dogs loves treat balls of any kind. I have a variety like the Everlasting Treat Ball and his personal favorite, the Everlasting Fun Ball which are designed to hold treats and that the dog has to push around and try to get them out. I saw this pyramid toy on Amazon and thought it would be an ideal step up for him, as he can generally get treats out of the other toys relatively quickly.

At first, he had some difficulty with this, primarily because I have mostly hardwood floors, and when he would push it with his nose, it just slid across the floor. Now that he's learned how to tip it over, he can empty the treats out quite quickly. I worry about it damaging my floors, particularly since the toy trains him to really bang it around. I really wish it came in a smaller size. Particularly when your dog is learning it, you have to put a fair amount of kibble in for them to have success. As you can see in the video, often when the food comes out, there's quite a lot pouring out at once.

Overall though, I think it's a fun alternative way to give my dog breakfast in the morning. He gets very excited when it's time for me to go to work because he knows he is getting his food toys!

I just got this for my pit bull mix a couple days ago. While you do have to fill it up quite a bit for your dog to be successful when s/he is learning how to use the toy, my dog was fine after the first time. Now, I only put maybe 30 pieces of kibble and small treats for her to knock out and she does it quite easily. The only thing I dislike about it is that it does not twist apart, so you have to insert each piece of food through the hole. That can be a bit of a pain if you're trying to give your dog's entire meal through this toy, so I've only been using it for a little afternoon snack.

I thought I had found the ultimate toy - durable and a lot of fun for the dog. ...until the dog dropped it and it broke into 2 pieces. Seriously - who makes a toy that withstands teeth but is glued together??

Love this when it worked. But there are two design flaws with this. First is that, as others have written, it can easily break in half. Second is that there's no larger opening to put handfuls of food or treats in. I felt like I was taking as much time to put stuff in as my dog was taking to get it out. It's a fantastic idea, too bad it didn't last more than 5 romps.

At first my dog barked at it and was very annoyed by it. Later, the treats get stuck in the container and I suspect grow stale. My dog could not get them out and I too have difficulty removing old treats. It requires very small treats. Works sometimes and other times NOT!

It was red (ok, that didn't matter at all, actually). It is REALLY hard to fill, I thought the bottom would unscrew, but it doesn't, kibbles or treats have to be carefully put in through the hole. That said, the dog loves it and it works fine, so I give it 4 stars.

We are on our fourth pyramid. The first was slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y demolished by an agressive chewer. The second broke in half after the third or fourth use after a drop down some stairs. I've attached a picture of the third and brand new fourth. Our dog (80 pound lab) used to wolf down his 1.5 cups of food in 30 seconds. In an upscale pet store one day, I happened upon the pyramid and thought to buy it as a toy. The clerk explained that her dog eats every meal from the pyramid. I had an aha moment. I'd feed my dog from it too. My dog eats Science Diet for Sensitive Stomachs which is the perfect sized kibble for dispensing from the pyramid. Note: this item does not unscrew or open in any way. You must funnel the food/treats in through the single hole. Using my palm as a cup-like funnel I can fill 1.5 cups in about a minute, My dog pushes it around, picks it up, drops it, etc for a good ten minutes to get all the food out. He's got it down to a science. But we have no more wolfed down food and promptly barfed up food.

We use the pyramid on a carpeted floor. We do lose some occasional crumbs as he's working the food out but he always goes around for thorough cleanup. The pyramid works outside as well. Use on hard surface floors would be annoying. It is very hard plastic and hits loudly on tile/hard wood. If your dog can't get it in his jaw to pickup/drop hard floors would be fine.

While my first was bought in a store. The 2nd-4th were purchased much more cheaply here on Amazon.

Just too big for my 10 lb rat terrier... but, I also think its not a well design product. Honestly, I even had a hard time removing the treats/dog food from the pyramid.
So far, the best toys I have purchased are the Kyjen products. I recommend their Egg Babies (you can hide the treats inside the stuff animals and you can use the eggs to play fetch: Kyjen Company Egg Babies - Fish Pet Toy
