This key board has a very solid build feel.
CBT007
The tactile feel gives me a better queue that a key has been hit and I tend to want to type faster compared to membrane keys.

Highly recommended for any cherryMX keyboards.

Okay, look, the whole keyboard doesn't light up. And anybody who knows anything about keyboards will tell you: keyboards that light up are awesome. It's just science.

Only half of this keyboard lights up. You want the whole keyboard to light up? Pony up some extra bread.

But if you're buying this keyboard because it has Cherry MX Brown switches in it, you're smart. You're the insider. You've got the real info, because you're "in the know." You've got data only few others have, and you're not afraid to act on it, and that makes you special, like a super-spy. You're like a Navy Seal of keyboards.

Cherry MX Browns and Blues are like sexy-times for your fingers. It's typing nirvana. You will be spoiled for life, and all other lesser keyboards will feel shriveled, like lesser beings. They'll know they can't satisfy you, not like this keyboard can. They can't bring that real, leg-quivering typing satisfaction. All your friends will talk about how you're just "glowing." And they're right. Because you've been typing on this keyboard, and this keyboard lives in the realm of true typing enlightenment.

Were I to offer any criticism of this keyboard, I'd say that the USB cable takes a little more force to plug into the keyboard than I thought it would, and until you do, the board won't turn on, which is fine. Just make sure you really shove it in there. Be assertive, it'll respond well.

In closing, this is a great keyboard and its quality will probably distract you for quite some time so that you don't end up thinking about how much you really need a girlfriend.

If you guys think your keyboard is DOA, Make sure you push in the mini USB really hard. You'll hear it click. I thought mine was DOA and tried that and it worked. WEEEEE I'm happy now.

I got this keyboard a couple of months ago (and I am writing this review from it!) and it is solid. After a lot of research I decided that cherry brown switches were the best for my needs- a hybrid between gaming and typing (I am a college student.) The keyboard is sturdy, the rubber grips and the sheer weight of it keep it in place on my desk.

Pros:
-Has a number pad
-Partially backlit
-The keys are all straight and sturdy
-1 MS response time
-N-KRO through USB (most keyboards only have 6KRO through USB)
-Can lock the windows key in gaming mode, and has media controls on the top row
-Braided, detachable cable- no tangles in the cord

Cons:
-Partially backlit (this is a pro and a con because I do wish it was fully lit but for the price, partial is still a bonus)
-Need a wrist rest to type and game comfortably for long sessions
-The cord comes out of the cable channel on the bottom periodically- definitely not a big deal to me, but it might bother someone

**Note: While I was looking up reviews for this on other websites, many people complained of getting a "DOA" keyboard. And initially- this is what I thought too, but it wasn't. The micro usb end that plugs into the keyboard is kind of difficult to fit. I plugged the cord in and nothing was happening, but after 5 more minutes of wrestling the cable in more securely, it turned on and was in perfect working condition. So if your board isn't immediately coming on, try and secure the cord better first before sending it back.

11/8/2012 Update! About 200 hrs logged in so far I have been using this keyboard now over a month with intensive typing and intense gaming it has no wear at all the keys are as solid as the first day. This keyboard is a total sleeper and at $59 I wish I had gotten two.

I have had this keyboard now about a month and I rank this up there with my Filco and Leopold in build quality VERY SOLID! I'm a heavy gamer and this keyboard has exceeded my expectations. I had to see for myself how this keyboard would hold up versus the $159 keyboards and I'm happy I pulled the trigger at $59.

Pros
1000hz polling rate
Full NKRO in USB mode
LED on gaming keys
Price
Build may have a steel plate instead of pcb it weighs heavier than my filco which has a steel plate also my leopold
Updated! Confirmed Plate mounted

Cons
None

Look for mail in rebates keep an eye out. Buy this keyboard the cherry mx Reds are Awesome and excellent for gaming and typing it's like typing on air. I absolutely love this keyboard and I rarely use my leopold and Filco anymore. Hope this review helps.

This is not my first mechanical keyboard. I've been using a Unicomp Model M buckling spring keyboard for several years--it's probably the loudest and heaviest keyboard out there, great if you're a key pounder and work in a room alone. I was looking for something quieter with a lighter action (actuation of the Model M is something like 60g; the QuickFire is more like 45g--much lighter and easier on my arthritic joints).

I've had it for two days and I'm loving it. I'm a writer, I spend all day typing, and I can say I feel very comfortable with it. It's fully backlit, a feature I can do without, but it does improve visibility at night. I can't get over how smooth and clean the keys feel. I remember keyboards like this many years ago, where typing was a quiet dance with the fingers, very little motion. I feel that rhythm returning. The Cherry MX Brown switches are just perfect, giving a subtle and quiet tactile "bump" at the actuation point.

The keyboard is very well made, solid, heavy, and the braided cable promises to last forever. It's got rubberized feet, which means it stays put. I'm very happy with my purchase.
