4.0 out of 5 stars Great, but not enough, August 17, 2008
This review is from: CMG Records Signature Series: Del Reeves (Audio CD)
Del Reeves is arguably best know for his 1965 #1 "Girl on the Billboard," yet in total he charted 55 hits on Billboard's C&W chart from 1961-1986. These are the original recordings of his hits; my only complaint is that the CD only includes 14 of his 56 hits. Obviously, all of his hits can't be included on a single CD, but I eagerly await a more extensive overview of this under-rated singers career. Forty-nine of his hits were recorded for United Artists, so at least a two disc retrospective is warranted from that label. Until then, this is the best CD of originals that hits the high points of his career.
