This is yet another "inside story" of television news, but for a change the focus is on the Cable News Network (CNN) and Ted Turner instead of the usual target, CBS. "I just love it when people say I can't do something," Turner says, and this is the story of what the television industry said Turner couldn't do and Turner did anyway. As early as 1976, Turner was fiddling with the idea of an all-news television channel. This book will be published on the tenth anniversary of the launching of CNN. It's an interesting yarn, a bit overwritten, but then the "Mouth of the South" is the subject. Packed with quotes from Turner and leading news figures, this will be popular in public libraries and mass media collections.

This is a Good Book!,

See first hand as CNN struggles to be objective in reporting, not as easy as one may think. There are many great stories in the book about the personalities which make up the news. There are lessons in reporting that are very applicable today. I found many parallels to the radio business. I recommend this book to any news reporter who cares about details.

This is an absolutely great book for fans of CNN or anyone in the media. It contains tons of inspiring quotes and great behind-the-scenes stories.I wouuld highly recommend it.
