Hand made heavy duty brass grinder with carved designs. It has a very sturdy mechanism with a thick steel rod (3/8") running through it. Handle folds and fits inside the grinder and coarseness can be adjusted. Excellent for Turkish coffee but also makes an awesome black pepper grinder as well! By the way, there are very few people left in the world that still makes these kind of grinders. They are built to last for a very long time.

I got this grinder for Christmas and I love it! It works really well and produces baby powder fine coffee wich is needed in a Turkish coffee pot. I really like the hand made'ness of it. Mine has a few cosmetic flaws but it adds to the character, it is Turkish after all. They've been making them the same way forever.
There have been alot of negative comments regarding the fine grind. IT'S FOR TURKISH COFFEE! It's not for a french press, percolator or espresso machine. As far as the adjustibility goes, it is only meant to adjust the burrs as they wear, not to drastically alter the texture of the grind.
I've also read some negative reviews about the finish quality. If you're into modern styling and clean lines this isn't for you. It's made by hand with a sand mold and hand tools. This means that the finish will be a little rough and each one will be a little different than the last, but I think that's cool.
A review of the long version stated that it was unsuitable for use with food because: 1. it's not stainless steel and 2. you cant clean it. While both of these statements are true, it doesn't matter. It's a coffee grinder. The oils from the beans will keep it from rusting and I've never heard of a case of someone getting food poisoning from coffee. I think the boiling water will probably take care of any bacteria that forms. If you're that concerned about your health, coffee probably isn't the right beverage choice anyway.
It does take a few minutes to grind a usable amount of coffee. This shouldn't be an issue though because Turkish coffee isn't meant to be fast. It's a bit of an art to make it right and you should really take your time and enjoy making it. It'll taste better in the end!

I like the look and the mecahnics of this device other than I couldn't adjust it to any size grind less fine than powder. It's very nice looking and well made. I was hoping for a portable coffee grinder to take camping and this won't do very well for that. I'm sure it would make a wonderful pepper grinder or, if you only want to do Turkish coffee it will grind coffee perfectly for that.
