This review is from: COLDCOCKED: A novel of seven murders, the media and the law (Kindle Edition)
COLDCOCKED --- A fascinating story, amazingly well written, a spell-binding terrific read. With a minimal amount of the redundancy so frequently encountered in fiction these days, Hatch tells a tragic story of unbelievable brutality using words so precisely that one can not only see, but also feel and smell his characters. To imagine the destruction of inanimate art, paintings and fine wine, and to believably describe these as living things is, in itself, brilliant. Even to the end, I wondered if this was a first person narrative, for it became so real as to deny its ascription of "fiction". I normally shut down when an author graphically details man's barbarism, but the thin line of hope that runs throughout Hatch's narrative is so compelling that this story could not be abandoned. I hope Hatch's hero returns to help solve another crime story. I'll be first in line to purchase it. COLDCOCKED: A novel of seven murders, the media and the law |
