About the Author

Christopher S. Cain knows vacation property. He should . . . because he owned a seaside condo at Kiawah Island, SC for 16 years. Based on his Kiawah experience he wrote his first book on vacation property in 1984. "Maximize Your Resort Property Investment," now in its second printing, has helped thousands of owners generate millions of dollars in extra rental revenue over the years. The book was featured editorially in Barron's, Business Week, USA Today, and MONEY magazine.

Mr. Cain has consulted with some of the country's top resorts and developers including Amelia Island, Saddlebrook, Kiawah Island, and U.S. Capital. As a former public relations executive who has designed major publicity programs for Fortune 500 companies, he brings a disciplined marketing approach to his favorite topic, vacation property.

Mr. Cain knows real estate. He should . . . because he served as director of Media Relations for the Florida Association of Realtors. And, he holds a current real estate license in Florida. A Cleveland, OH native, Mr. Cain has lived in Orlando, FL since 1987 and teaches writing for Public Relations as an adjunct professor at the University of Central Florida. I saw Mr. Cain speak at a seminar recently and he had some good pointers so I figured it was worth the low cost to buy this book. Wrong.

There is not a thing in this book that a reasonably intelligent person would not come up with on their own. The book is 197 pages of large type and 56 pages of that is nothing more than a list of Coldwell Banker offices - as if we're not smart enough to look that up on the Internet. Oh yeah, there is "Directory of Other Resources" (other than Coldwell Banker) to keep it balanced. That's a one-page list of companies that are affiliated with Coldwell Banker.

This is nothing but an informercial in print. Shame on you, Coldwell Banker!
