Good Light Duty Hikers for the Price,
By
This review is from: COLUMBIA Men's Trailmeister (Apparel)
Found the Trailmeisters on sale for $40 and at that price they are a real bargain - probably wouldn't pay twice that price though as I can usually find something comparable from Columbia for less. These are great light-to-medium duty hikers that can do double duty as casual sportswear as they are attractively styled without being too flashy. I am a slightly wide 11 and the 11 in these fit just fine. Plan to do a little breaking in to get them to the optimal comfort level before hitting the trail for an extended hike, though the break-in period didn't cause any undue discomfort. In my experience one ought always break in hikers before committing to the trail to maximize enjoyment and to make sure there aren't any fit issues. I have owned many Columbia hikers and they are built to last. All in all these are winners - good support, solid construction, and comfortable.

Great Shoe,

I've worn this style shoe for the past ten years or so. Wore every pair out. I wear Orthodic inserts in the shoes due to flat feet and they fit fine. I also have a foot swelling problem so next pair I bought I got one size bigger. Unfortunately Kohl's department store stopped carrying Columbia Brands shoes. I hope I can find another store that sells these, otherwise, I will have to order them from Amazon.
Great shoes, would recommend them to anyone. Love the colors too.

Dangerous! Lacing hooks nearly killed me on ladder!,
This review is from: COLUMBIA Men's Trailmeister (Apparel)
Nice comfortable shoes but I have had trouble with the lacing hooks catching on things. Once I had one catch on the side of a ladder I was coming down (TALL ladder) and nearly got killed or at least hurt. Replace the hooks with a better system and they'd be a great shoe, as is I consider them dangerous.

Nice hiker. Was expecting all eyelets style but got ones with the hook at top. Previous ones i owned had all eyelets but these do the trick and I'm happy i got.

Best hiking shoes ever made,

I own the low cut version of These shoes (maybe Trailmeister beta xD) and i'm absolutely satisfied, i've using this model 5 YEARS and i will purchase it again the next year, i'm a active member of The World Organization of the Scout Movement in my country and I've camped in many places and done many trips to many places with different climatic conditions i've done hiking and These shoes have endured a lot of mud and cold water and they still work ok, just a few months ago i was to repair the sole after a 4hour of walking over a breakwater and a few dunes my shoes are not waterproof but they repel the water very well and way to dry fast... I'm sure this version may be improve the perfomance of the pair I own. This shoes are perfect for almost everything that you can imagine i've not enough words to explain it just buy it and enjoy it

Love these boots,

I have had these boots for a couple months now, and I am very happy with them. I bought them to replace the exact same make and model because I was very happy with the previous pair. I got six years of use out of the old pair, wearing them about three days a week, before they started to show wear. I still use the old pair for working in the yard. These fit right, are well made, and keep my feet dry.

Won't keep your feet dry.,

Nice boots and very comfortable but they do not keep my feet dry at all. Maybe it's just the pair I have but they are not waterproof by any stretch.

I have only worn these as casual shoes for now.Tougher review later on.The thing is I took them right from the box.No break in time and started wearing them for daily use.No real water tests yet or day hiking on trails. So for now it gets 5 stars for comfort,no break in time.Looks good too..Stay tuned.

Shoes fit like a glove and little break in required. Using these for upcoming trekking in Nepal. Great shoes.
