Columbine McKana [ Aquilegia McKana ] has flowers that are larger than other varieties and, although short-lived, the plant self-seeds freely. Bonnet-like flowers in shades of blue, lilac, yellow, pink and rose red from late spring to mid summer above mounds of fern-like, mid-green leaves. The colors tend toward the pastels and the overall effect is very bright and colorful. The plant is wonderful when used for cut flowers. The plant has graceful, blue green foliage. i purchased and planted seeds when season was right.. didnt come up and very disappointed! i have never had problems with seeds in my gardens before..
